I remember walking down the hallway of a school... I’d never been there before ... A Kindergarten student ran to me and grabbed my hand ... “I know you” - she said. We were both Anishinaabe. We connected & in that moment - I knew her too. #onted #RepresentationMatters

Anishinaabe have teachers, it might not say OCT beside their name… But don’t kid yourselves, we have teachers. It’s a gift, a responsibility, something we are born into. #anishinaabestyle #anishinaabequalified

If you are a school or district leader, ask yourself, "Who's more likely to burn out out in my building, an educator who advocates for racial justice or one who refuses to embrace racial justice? That's a crucial measure of the realness of your equity leadership.

You say, "When you know better, you do better." But the knowing & doing must be active. The doing is not a magical outcome of knowing. Orgs are full of racism people w/ power KNOW exists & CHOOSE not to abolish. That's an institutional injustice problem, not a knowledge problem.

Sit and listen to Indigenous languages being spoken in conversation. That sound is the sound of the land we live on. Let’s normalize those beautiful sounds. #LanguageLearning #onted

Black students should not have to face anti-Black racism while at school. York Memorial students are standing up for their right to an equitable education, and we will continue to stand by them! #memostrikes

The focus on equity and anti-oppression in education is 💯 about creating optimal learning conditions and increasing student achievement, with an emphasis on making sure particular communities are served well. The ONLY agenda is ensuring that ALL students learn.

Stop discouraging Indigenous youth from attending learning outside of your classrooms.... It's learning, and it's important to them. @clclyne #TurtlesBackVoicEd
