If you are a school or district leader, ask yourself, "Who's more likely to burn out out in my building, an educator who advocates for racial justice or one who refuses to embrace racial justice? That's a crucial measure of the realness of your equity leadership.

You say, "When you know better, you do better." But the knowing & doing must be active. The doing is not a magical outcome of knowing. Orgs are full of racism people w/ power KNOW exists & CHOOSE not to abolish. That's an institutional injustice problem, not a knowledge problem.

Last week the Joint Master Education Committee held their quarterly meeting hosted by the Ministry of Education, Indigenous Education Office.The committee’s work advances the work of the Master Education Agreement.The agreement supports Anishinabek student success and well-being.

The focus on equity and anti-oppression in education is 💯 about creating optimal learning conditions and increasing student achievement, with an emphasis on making sure particular communities are served well. The ONLY agenda is ensuring that ALL students learn.
