Great month spent in France saw back end of Le Tour, then on to the Olympics which was superb after a very inauspicious start. Highlight being in the finish area when Pidcock got boo'd after going for the gap. Solid third in total medal table ;) #Olympics2024Paris

@AndyC_F1 Energy generated in the UK should be subject to a windfall tax, including renewables (joke about wind power somewhere). Should've been the same with those who profited massively from Covid. Largely they've not made excessive profits due to good business but just luck.

There's no point in the Home Office recruiting more staff to process asylum claims if they make perverse decisions. Currently over 50% of applications from Albanians are granted. In France the figure is 2% and in Germany zero. Why?

@refsupportuk A number of refs who decry them have never used them. Usually say 'I man manage' them; 2 minutes later they're telling you about games that went tits-up. Granted they could be difficult to manage once you've got more than a couple in sin-bin but how often does that happen?

Sin bins are a positive move but it would be interesting to see what percentage of refs believe they help their control of the game,some refs refuse to use them. They can be a distraction and difficult to manage.

@refsupportuk The semi-automatic tech being trialled in the UCL is supposed to provide the 3D image in ~10 seconds, and remove need for manual line drawing. Clearly still teething problems with it at the minute as seen in the time in the Liverpool game, and Spurs game last week.

@CTR_Paul Most don't know what a kwh is. Would have to convert it to number of cups of tea or something. Typical usage is capped at around £2500 is all they needed to say, they either weren't briefed properly or didn't understand.

The #EnergyPriceCap should never have been advertised to the public as 2.5k, it was always about capping the cost per kWh. We now see that even saying a 2.5k cap for avg use was wrong for households in many areas of the UK. @MartinSLewis #energybills #Tories
