Here's a little research I made for the community! A visual guide of Mexican & Mesoamerican characters in Hoyo games:

With the release of the new Ho'olheyak skin in Arknights. Just wanted to share that I love they've included Puuc-like architecture on her artwork. (An Architectural Maya style common of Yucatan's Puuc region.) Her name, Ho'olheyak means "Yesterday" in Yucatec Maya.

【EPOQUE Collection - Ritual of Immortality - Ho'olheyak】 Clothes Ho'olheyak wore while touring the ruins. Under a loose coat lies an exceedingly-modern black dress, making clear that her purpose here is not to explore the past, but to sneer at its passing. #Arknights #Yostar

Curiosity of the day! Amoxcihuatl isn't the only one with a Codex related name. We also have Amazolli, the book seller of Mictlan. His name means "old paper". And just like Amoxcihuatl, he also works with books. Codices in Mesoamerica where usually made from Amate paper.

Curious fact of today! Today we have another Temple of Space NPC from Natlan: Amoxcihuatl! Her name is likely composed of the Nahuatl words Amoxtli (book/codex) and Cihuatl (woman). It could be translated as "Woman of the Codices" or "Codex Woman".

We talked a bit more about how codices (Amoxtli in Nahuatl, how we learned today) are likely referenced in Natlan through the scrolls. Here's the post for anyone interested: x.com/i/status/20205… Temple of Space really keeps on giving!
TheAranaraResearcher@NaraResearchs

Natlan also has their "Scrolls" that seem to mirror the Codices from Mesoamerica, specially their pictorial writing nature. They've also seem to be woven in a loom similar to the "Telar de cintura" (Waist loom). The textiles of Mesoamerica were also charged with symbolism too!

I actually liked that name, and it fits with the recent angelical themes!

Curious fact of the day! Her name, Quiauhquetzal, is composed of the Nahuatl words Quiahuitl (rain) and Quetzalli (precious feather). Meaning something like "Precious Rain Feather" or "Precious Feather of Rain". It's composition is similar to Quiauhtonatiuh, the "sun of rain".

I get so happy whenever I see a Natlan NPC in this area. Cuz it's probably gonna be about Natlan's history just like this one. Yay Sovereign Lord crumbs (Ajaw next please...)

Cultural Inspirations and References behind Ineffa! Today I present you a little research I made about Ineffa, our favorite Robo-Dragon-Maid! It was intended to be released during her banner, but at least is ready for Genshin Anniversary! Hope you like it!

@Majora__Z Yeah! I think it could be better implemented in her design, although they were clear about it being an Anahuatl, especially if we account for the JP name of it, which isn't in latin, and translates as "Anahuatl mirror." That's a good question, I hadn't thought of that!

@NaraResearchs It's possible, especially due to the pink strip on the top that evokes the red bindings anahuatl were tied with, but as usual with the Natlan designs I think it's maybe a bit of a stretch I wonder if its meant to evoke the buns / braids of Axtlacuilli / Neaxtlahualli hairstyles?

Just an additional curious fact: The "Smoking Mirror" and Tezcatlipoca are referenced in many ways in Natlan. from the "Night-Wind's Mystic Premonition" material to region names like Tezcatepetonco, Night Wind tribe/masters, the AQ referencing Smoke & Mirrors, etc.
