@drkeithsiau Remember a gentleman with a non pulsatile swelling in left loin ( 1979 - pre ultrasound or CT era ) discussed as a large cold abscess . Turned out to be AAA !
I can now speak Oriya fluently ( almost )
Was exposed to 2 hours of non stop chatter behind me on the flight to Bhubaneshwar. I thought people would prefer to sleep when they board an early morning flight
This 49 yr old gentleman walked into my clinic today with a past history of partial nephrectomy for a tumor. Looking at the pic below make a diagnosis and list the components.

@DrRajeshG1 Prof Sudhayakumar was my Registrar ( when I was doing MD in 1982-83 ) and learnt most of my clinical cardiology from him . He introduced me to Moss Adam’s Ped Cardiology. Brilliant clinician and echo cardiologist. Fond memories
With my cardiology teachers Prof Rajan Joseph Manjuran who passed DM Cardiology from AIIMS in 1974 and Prof N Sudhayakumar who passed out DM from PGI Chandigarh in 1983. These brilliant teachers who dedicated their life for teaching students stimulated me to follow their path.
Stoke complications in endoscopy symposium 2026
A letter shared at #SCIES2026 stayed with me.
It reminds us that the complications aren’t usually the problem. Poor communication is. Honest, clear, compassionate conversations build trust. #gitwitter
Maroof Raza is no more.
Was a friend and mentor. Fought a long battle with cancer. Will be missed by all in the national security space where he was a pioneering reporter/writer who bridged the gap between practitioner and the public.
Travel well, Maroof.
There is lot of discussion about textbook discussing corruption in judiciary. I agree that this is not a topic for textbooks for school kids . But I did not see a similar outrage by the SC or judiciary when doctors were painted as unethical in a similartextbook.@SUHELSETH178338
Such a pleasure meeting a doyen of endoscopy Prof B Krishna Rau at Chennai over the weekend. He was a pioneering endoscopist doing advanced procedures Ercp in the early 1980’s. He is as pleasant as ever in his late 80’s. @SGEIofficial@Kayalvn
A pujari at the Guruvayur Krishna temple was suspended on October 30, 2025. And the reason will surprise you!
He closed the sanctum (sreekovil/garbhagriha) door on time. His only mistake? There were some VIPs waiting outside to pray and they were offended that he closed the door and that too with a "loud noise."
The VIPs were reportedly connected to a temple board member. No points for guessing which party the board member is associated with! We all know who manages our temples right?
It's been over 100 days! Priest Raman Namboothiri is still under suspension for not being subservient.
When temples are managed by those with no regard for the deity, temple traditions or rituals, incidents like this become inevitable!
@johnstanly If the leader of the Democratic Party had fled the country then the Democratic Party should retrospect
If Sheikh Hasina cared for Bangladesh she should have stayed there and gone down fighting
If the U.S. held an election banning the Democratic Party, would you have called it a success? If the UK held an election banning Labour or Conservatives, would it have been democratic? If India held an election barring the Congress from contesting, would it have been a triumph for democracy? Or can Nepal transition into legitimate democracy by banning the UML or the Maoists?
I mean, I congratulate the millions of Bangladeshis who turned up to cast their votes. That country needs a democratic transition from the unelected technocratic regime of Yunus. But almost all analysts, while praising the smooth conduct of the elections, seem to forget the fundamental flaw of the process — one of the largest political parties in the country remains banned. And it this ban that is empowering the Islamist Jamaat e Islami.
@rashmiprasan@Srisha_Hebbar@gvraoaig Corporate hospital will allow if you are part of a team and not in solo practice. Growth is always in a team and you show intent. Mentor is important- in the team and outside too . Indeed he/ she is the key
Yesterday I delivered a talk on learning new skills in practice. Challenging because we had 30-40 years to learn new procedures while youngsters have to do so in 3-4 years . Apprenticeship, being part of a large team and having mentors is the way to go. @Srisha_Hebbar@gvraoaig
