@NeiceGary @LibbyMettam 2/2 When we look at hospital beds per capita, WA has the lowest in the nation. Wouldn’t you expect more for the wealthiest state? These numbers may not be the most up to date as the new ICU extension at RPH has just gone live but gives you the idea! statista.com/statistics/979…

@NeiceGary @LibbyMettam 1/2 Hi there - to understand this is to understand WHY ambulances ramp. Ambulances ramp because patients cannot get into hospital because ED is full, because there are patients in ED waiting to get an INPATIENT hospital bed. Right now WA has the lowest hospital beds per capita.

It’s simply inexcusable that our ambulance service have had to resort to making these unprecedented calls with 1 in 4 ambulances ramped across the Metro area, because the McGowan Government have failed to address the capacity issues in our hospital system. thewest.com.au/news/health/st…

A friendly reminder to some (not all) senior drs on #MedTwitter Medicine as a career has changed Consider the benefits of uni fees below 9k, heavily subsidised accommodation for F1/F2. That era has ended + rising living costs Please don't pull the ladder up for your juniors

Can we stop the myth that abortion is universally traumatizing? I had abortion. The only traumatic thing about it was dealing with protestors outside Planned Parenthood. I have no regrets. I needed no therapy. Residency & med school were far more traumatic than my abortion.

@mrhenglung @Retired30S @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam Nope. I discounted your claim “vaccine injuries” account for nearly half of ambulance calls. That is not true and absolutely “made up”. I do not know the details about your friend but hope they get better soon. Try again!

@NasMAbdul @Retired30S @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam Disgusting when a medico seeks to dispel the heart break and trauma of heart injury as made up stories. Get these quacks out of our health system. We need doctors who are committed to health, and finding the truth not stooges with an agenda

@Retired30S @mrhenglung @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam Nah. We don’t have enough nurses to safely look after patients. We don’t have enough beds to get patients into hospital. There are delays getting access to care. We have overworked staff needing to take leave. All real issues I see at work. Not made up stories 💁🏾‍♂️

@NasMAbdul @Retired30S @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam It took 5 years to take Vioxx off the market even as it killed tens of thousands of Americans stone cold dead from heart attacks and all the while the stooge doctors and medical system denied and covered up. Exactly as now. Make no mistake, heads will roll

@Retired30S @mrhenglung @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam Nah. I’m done pandering to the fear mongering. The vast majority resolve without issue. This claim is supported by the literature, not anecdotes. The fringe cases that don’t are rare. They are NOT the reason we have an ambulance ramping crisis in WA.

@mrhenglung @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam This sounds like a heart attack, not pericarditis. Not the same thing and again, not an adverse reaction to a vaccine that causes “50% of ambulance calls”. Hope your friend recovers soon!

@NasMAbdul @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam My 39 year old pal, has lost 30 per cent of his heart function, can’t walk his one year old baby round the block in a pram without losing his breath, can no longer work, told he will only know over the next 5 years how much he will recover. Rare and self recovering my ass

@lighthouse2390 @LibbyMettam Acutely, we are also EXTREMELY short staffed to the point where it is dangerous. We do not have enough nursing staff to safely manage every patient in hospital right now.

@LibbyMettam I think this tweet would have a bit more sting in it if you offered a solution or this is what we would have done …

@NeiceGary @LibbyMettam Yes but WA is by far the worst off despite our significant budget surplus. Surely all that money needs to do something?

@lighthouse2390 @LibbyMettam It’s a supply demand issue. WA needs an extra hospital. Based on the most recent report, we are short approximately 350 beds. The 2 new hospitals built (FSH/PCH) did little to alleviate this as they replaced other hospitals/services (PMH/Freo)

@mrhenglung @Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam Completely false 😂 50% of ambulance calls are not for “vaccine injuries” No one is covering it up Pericarditis is a known adverse event that can occur post a vaccine (or after a viral infection). Low numbers with the VAST majority self-resolving. Quit making things up

@Tony87505461 @LibbyMettam Not true, the injuries are being denied by medicos. All my friends have similar experience, told by emergency medicos they have “anxiety” and sent home. It’s only when the injured insist and see a cardiologist, that the damage is revealed, and confirmed as vaccine injury.
