I've been reporting on mass shootings since 2021 and never have I seen a family annihilation this bizarre. A teenage girl, 15, hunted down members of her own family and shot 7 people at three different locations. 5 dead. She got her boyfriend, 16, to help her.

Apparently, he had been obsessed with her since High School. Wouldn't stop contacting her. Broke into her house and stabbed her death, then confessed to police. Still awaiting his eventual wrist-slap plea deal, from the office of Spencer B. Merriweather III.

On this day, two years ago, former Duke University football star Brandon Braxton, 33, fatally stabbed Whitney Hurd, 32, after breaking into her home in Charlotte. He knew her from high school. Hurd had recently contacted the police to ask for protection, but nothing was done.

The gunman is being prosecuted as a juvenile, which means he is guaranteed to get off super easy.
