Out clambers quoll mum Indianna, followed by an endless stream of ankle-biters, all piling on as she desperately tries to waddle away into the darkness 🤱 @MulligansFlat #wildoz buff.ly/2FKYk9w

Believe it or not, these are tiny Tasmanian devils! At birth, devils are only about the size of a grain of rice & have to clamber up to their mothers pouch to attach to one of her teats. A maximum of 4/30+ that are born make it to a teat #DevilFactThursDay

Growing up, my Muslim family never celebrated Christmas. This year I am not going home, because pandemic, so my roommates are teaching me how to have my first proper Christmas. I am approaching this with anthropological precision. Here are a few observations.

New #AustralEcology paper on the status of native mammals on Groote Eylandt. The relative health of populations is likely due to feral cat low density, benign fire regime, and absence of large introduced herbivores and cane toads. @EcolSocAus @wileyecology bit.ly/31JpV63
