In the @AFL at the start of the Grand Final both teams representatives walk out with the cup however only one hands it over at the end would be strange for Sydney’s one to give it to Lions for the 24 GF as Sydney lost. Lions had Leigh Matthew’s present it to them. I am aware that its not named the Matthews Trophy either but in Cricket I wouldn't expect the losing team representative to hand over the trophy. So I do understand where there may be a bit of confusion but I am happy if the winning team gets the winning representative to give them the trophy.
