A number of congresspeople and former members of the special operations community have also announced this news, but no major U.S. outlets have verified the rescue of the second crewman on the F-15 lost in Iran. Major outlets and the USG are not yet posting verification.

IMO, until our downed crewman is officially announced safe, the last thing that should be happening is a bunch of discussions about rescue operations happening or not in Iran. Praying for our pilot. 🙏

If it's a fake, someone really did their homework. The markings are consistent with the F-15Es of the 48th Fighter Wing based at RAF Lakenheath (there's more pics in the linked thread)

Third, the other piece. Looks like the wingtip of an F-15E, though I don't have ID yet on which one, left or right. Given the two different sections of the airframe, it does appear real and does not bode well for the survivability of the aircraft.
