A @USCG MH-60 Jayhawk rescued 5 crew members from the fishing vessel Ocean Bay near Umnak Island, Alaska, Thursday, hoisting all five to safety after they ran aground and began taking on water.

A U.S. F-15E fighter jet was shot down over southern Iran, triggering a combat search-and-rescue operation that recovered one crew member while efforts continue for a second, U.S. officials told the Wall Street Journal.
Retired Gen. James Slife said it is “a high-risk mission,” adding “the longer somebody is on the ground, the less opportunity you have to safely recover them.”

Vermont Air National Guard members from the 158th Fighter Wing remain deployed to the Middle East after back-to-back missions since December, Vermont Public reports. Maj. Gen. Henry “Hank” Harder said he could not confirm numbers but described the force as in the “hundreds region.”

Albanian authorities said security institutions are on high alert, and all mechanisms are “active and functional” after a U.S. Embassy warning that Iran-linked groups could target Americans, U.S.-affiliated entities, and Iranian opposition figures in Albania, Euronews reports.
In Bulgaria, officials confirmed receiving a diplomatic note from Iran last month, warning against U.S. military use of its airports. Former FM Nadezhda Neynski said it was “not a threat, but a warning.”
