“I don’t understand why women don’t just report it if it really happened.” When I was 19, I reported mine. I had bruises. Hospital photos. Text messages of him apologizing the next morning. My friends drove me to the station because I could barely stop shaking. I thought evidence would make it simple. I thought truth would be enough. Months later, I was the one on trial. His lawyer printed my Instagram photos and held them up in court. Asked why I wore crop tops. Asked why I drank that night. Asked why I didn’t scream louder. He replayed my police interview and pointed out every time I hesitated, every time I cried, every time my timeline wasn’t perfectly linear. “If it was traumatic,” he said, “why can’t she remember clearly?” Sitting there while strangers debated my pain like it was a group project felt like being stripped again. My messages were projected on a screen. My body was described in detail. My character was picked apart like that was the real crime. He walked out on bail. I walked out with panic attacks. That’s why some women don’t report. Because even with bruises. Even with screenshots. Even when you do everything “right.” You still have to survive the assault twice, once in private, and once in public, just to maybe be believed.

@ImMeme0 I always thought it was weird that women shave their pubic hair as a social norm to wear revealing clothes or swimsuit, being a woman is being in a social prison, taking a video of a random woman IN A SWIMSUIT is creepy

Yeah no, I’m not quite sure that’s the movie’s point. Promising Young Woman doesn’t argue that violence or rape culture can be solved by men simply “learning,” nor does it offer neat moral lessons that restore order. It’s deliberately bleak about how little changes, repeatedly pointing to institutional failure, social complicity, and how consequences are usually avoided unless they’re forcibly imposed. There IS revenge, but not the cathartic, triumphant kind people expect. It’s calculated, procedural, and devastatingly costly. Cassie doesn’t “win”, she pays the ultimate price, and that outcome is meant to feel unsettling, not empowering. That makes it distinct from most recent revenge films, like John Wick, where revenge is stylized, kinetic, and ultimately victorious. Here, revenge isn’t spectacle or power fantasy, it’s uncomfortable, messy, and expensive. The film dresses itself like a glossy “girl power” thriller only to deny the audience that satisfaction, and that refusal of easy catharsis is exactly what makes it sharp rather than naive

Calling “Best Screenplay” a story that frames violence as a structural problem and then reduces it to a matter of individual ignorance is, at the very least, naive. The script of PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN is not radical but pedagogical—there is no revenge, only moral lessons; no symbolic exorcism, only female sacrifice. Far from being subversive, Emerald Fennell’s film places its faith in men “learning” and in the woman killing herself so that everything can return to its proper place. That’s not bold feminism—it’s old-fashioned moralism in pop packaging.

Sempre falei isso. Os únicos homens realmente felizes que conheço são os que são submissos a uma mulher que eles consideram deusa na Terra. Todos os outros são insatisfeitos sempre procurando validação constante e aprovação masculina.

Men are unhappy because they can't accept their real nature: the adoring suitor of the goddess-lover (read the Tannhäuser legend, read in Roman poetry how supplicant was Mars before Venus and how meek is Sir Lancelot before Guinevere).

Mia Goth Updates
Mia Goth Updates@miagothupdate·
This thread is from a Mia Goth fan page run by women who witnessed her abusive relationship with abuser Shia LaBeouf. The same pattern appears to be repeating itself with Drina, a 32-year-old woman. Content warning: emotional abuse, intimidation. This thread exists to document a recurring pattern reported by several women, not to incite harassment. The material mentioned was shared with us by people directly involved. Over time, similar dynamics have been described in different relationships involving the abuser: emotional instability, intimidation, extremely abusive relationship, toxic behavior, and control during private interactions. We cannot forget when Mr. Abuser said, “I don’t want to hit a woman, but I’m being provoked.” Recently, we received videos documenting these same dynamics occurring again, this time involving Drina. We are stating that these videos prove the criminal behavior is repeating itself. When viewed in conjunction with previous public allegations, they reinforce a pattern that many have already recognized. During Mia Goth's relationship with her abuser, allegations of emotional abuse and coercive behavior were made public. What is being reported now is disturbingly consistent with those accounts. Patterns matter because abuse is rarely an isolated moment. It often manifests as repeated behaviors over time, with different partners and circumstances. We believe women when they speak up spontaneously, especially when their stories repeat themselves without any coordination. This series of tweets is not a verdict. It is a document, shared so that these patterns are not erased or ignored. Survivors deserve to be heard. Silence only perpetuates the cycle.
