Dear Pastor, Your post-easter brain is likely in a fog... a mixture of joy, exhaustion, frustration + hope. A life-giving activity for me in this interesting state is to simply send "thank you texts" to all the folks who served + made yesterday possible. It's good for the soul!

@JeffVanderstelt (2) My guess is that 95% of those who pushed back are preachers. We all value the gift we bring, which is appropriate! Preaching matters. But as Sinclair observed “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”

I received no small amount of pushback from a recent Tweet. A few questioned the validity of the statement. I decided to do some research and discovered there is reason to question the 5% retention from lecture claim.

I have served with some amazing law enforcement officers, and have seen the incredible good that they bring to their communities. What we’re seeing from some ICE officers isn’t that. We are putting lives at risk through the surging of poorly trained, highly aggressive agents.
