It's Election Day in Ward 8, where voters will decide whether to return indicted Trayon White to the D.C. Council or opt for new leadership. We'll be talking to voters all day and you can follow along in this story which will be updated: washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/…

@MayorBowser Please control for job type. Consider Microsoft, where women actually have greater income than their male counterparts for each specified job. This proclamation is just promoting victimhood and racial identity while disregarding relevant facts. cbsnews.com/news/the-gende…

Happening now - Metro leaders launch increased bus fare enforcement at Fort Totten Metro station. @wmataGM says Metro is losing $40-$50 million per year in bus fare evasion. A staggering 70% plus of Metrobus riders are not paying the fare right now. #wmata @nbcwashington

More importantly what are @CM_McDuffie ties to Intralot and how is he leading the investigation against @trayonwhite, there seems to be some inherent conflict of interest here? @maustermuhle @51stnews @AlexKomaWCP @CMBrookePinto @CMCHenderson @ChmnMendelson

Many people have serious concerns about Trayon remaining as a councilmember. Here's a compilation. #imwithtray #DCision24 #ward8

Today I’m proud to be endorsed by Councilmember @trayonwhite. He is the 4️⃣th sitting Councilmember to endorse me given evidence that I have the relationships to be effective to serve #Ward7 on Day One.
Vote for Wendell Felder (#1 on the ballot) by or before June 4th.

English

I'm curious if @WendellforWard7 still accepts his endorsement from @trayonwhite. I haven't heard otherwise. Updated picture attached.

Wendell Felder@WendellforWard7

While most testimonies at the hearing just asked for more money for the corrupt and ineffective Violence Interrupter programs, @TheRealCommiss2 was maybe the only one calling for it to end. I'm thankful for the few residents who make the sacrifice to testify. 🫡

@salimadofo I don't think that the problem in Ward 8 is lack of political organization.
I think a more helpful perspective is to consider one's own situation: family, income, and living conditions, then work to improve those rather than organize and petition the government.
English

As leaders we have to be more creative at getting people in under resourced communities engaged with policy & legislation. Many residents don’t believe their voices matter, because their current leadership does not include them in the process. Leadership is a collective process, not a singular one.
Leaders should be doing all they can to keep residents informed and aware. If leaders are not doing this, it’s because they either do not know how or benefit from keeping people ignorant. Neither one of these postures are good for the health of the community.
An organized community, is a healthy & vibrant one. What organizes people? CLARITY! Being clear & informed on what the issues are, & our capacity to address them.
Our problem is not that we are poor, lazy or stupid. Our problem is that we are not organized. Our problem is we are not clear and informed on the issues, and what we can do to address them. Therefore, we lack the resources needed to thrive.
We will get what we organize for.

It was nice of DCBOE to bring more clarity on the #Ward8 ballot. They didn't need to do that. @trayonwhite

@flofraz2 For interested homeowners: reducing the cost for buyers and making incentives all take money for other taxpayers and inequitably benefit those who get to the program first. Eliminating government ownership and control of 10,000+ give buyers many more options.
English

@NateWard_8 You mentioned healthcare and home ownership. The audience is primarily concerned about affordable rent because everyone can’t qualify for a mortgage. The few who can would be interested in reduced cost and buyer incentives, but what about renters? You’re not right for Ward8.

English

@flofraz2 Renters are suffering due to shortages created by copious government programs (HPTF, rent control, IZ, DCHA) that allow thousands of vacant units and enrich slumlords. Deleting these increases supply and reduces rent. Happy to hear your solutions, i only want the best ideas.
English

@FievreduPotomac @fox5dc Please comment on my platform where i specify 6 issues and solutions that aren't more of the same big-government solutions. I only want the best ideas.

@NateWard_8 @fox5dc Such a deeply serious guy when it comes to addressing the serious needs of residents of Ward 8 and the City as a whole.
