Exactly, James - the real history of Israel isn’t just eye-opening, it's perhaps the most inspiring, heroic tale of rebirth from literal ashes in human history. Think of where the Jewish people were in 1946. Imagine someone asking: “What is the future for the Jews?” What could the answer have possibly been? Two-thirds of European Jewry was gone, hundreds of thousands of Holocaust survivors were stuck behind barbed wire in DP camps with nowhere to go, and the British were still keeping the doors of Mandate Palestine slammed shut to Jewish immigration. How could anyone not have thought the best years of the Jewish people were long gone? And yet, two years later, the Jews became a sovereign people again in their ancient homeland. Then, following the horrors of the Holocaust, there was an invasion by five Arab armies (600,000 Jews vs. ~200 million Arabs) in 1948. And not only did Israel win, it rose in a single generation to become a global technological, military, and financial powerhouse - a true world leader in fields like cybersecurity, water desalination, medical innovation, and startup density per capita. Yet the lies about Israel never stopped, and they are selling as strong as ever right now. The anti-Israel brigade has spent decades rebranding the original Arab “Nakba” (their humiliating failure to destroy the Jewish state in the cradle) as a story of Jewish ethnic cleansing. Now they’ve escalated to the ultimate obscenity: Holocaust Inversion. On the streets of our capitals and on the lawns of our universities, they scream “genocide” at the Jews - the very people after whom the Genocide Convention was written following the Shoah. It should be obvious by now, but to many it remains ambiguous, so I’ll say it again: the genocide charge collapses under basic facts: Israel could have exterminated Gaza in days if it wanted to - it didn’t, it hasn’t, and it never will because that never has been and never will be Israel’s policy or intent; Two million Arab Israelis (same ethnicity) live safely under full Israeli sovereignty with equal rights as equal citizens; Over 1.4 million tons of food aid was delivered to Gaza after the October 7th Massacre; Israel coordinated with the WHO to provide polio vaccinations for 600,000+ Gazan children in the midst of full-scale war; and The civilian-to-combatant ratio (1-2:1) is unheard of in modern urban warfare; and the IDF achieved that ratio in part because it was willing to send its soldiers into harm’s way (and many died in door-to-door fighting) instead of simply carpet bombing from the air. Once you realize the goal is simply to brand Israel with the worst crimes and the worst words of human rights violations in an attempt to delegitimize Israel’s existence, everything else falls into place. That’s why I have a collection of newspaper clippings (which I’ve posted) going back 70 years where Israel was accused of “genocide.” This accusation did not start with the recent Gaza War - not even close. But their lies, no matter how obscene, can never erase the fact that Israel and the Jewish people are history’s most inspiring comeback story.

People forget this part of history. Israel defeated Egypt in war and then gave back the entire Sinai Peninsula - an area bigger than Israel itself - in exchange for peace. Israel withdrew from Gaza completely in 2005, removing its own settlements and citizens. Parts of the West Bank were handed over to Palestinian governance under the Oslo Accords. The Golan Heights wasn’t returned because Syria never made peace and the area overlooks northern Israel strategically. So the narrative that Israel just “occupies land and never gives anything back” is simply not true. Land was returned where peace was possible. Land was held where war was still the reality. That’s not ideology. That’s strategy and survival.

The reason Democrats started what is now the longest shutdown in DHS history is because they were demanding dramatic reforms to the way ICE operates. They now get zero of those reforms after negotiations fell apart in the Senate. None. Dems are claiming victory because Republicans are now agreeing to a DHS funding bill with zero dollars for ICE & CBP and Dems can message to their base that they held the line and didn’t fund Trump’s mass deportation agenda. But ICE & CBP are already pre-funded (not entirely) by the One Big Beautiful Bill, immigration enforcement operations have continued without issue, and Republicans plan to give ICE & CBP even more money in a second reconciliation bill, which will require no Democratic votes in the Senate. So what did this DHS shutdown accomplish, other than hurt a lot of people & create chaos at airports?

This isn’t cash. This is a number someone decided on paper — and now I’m being billed for it. If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t pay taxes until I sell. If my income doesn’t increase, I don’t magically owe more income tax. So why does owning a home work differently? Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains? A house isn’t just an investment — it’s where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money. You don’t truly own something if you can be taxed out of it. This isn’t about “services” or “inflation.” It’s about being charged for value you never received. And people are starting to notice.
