What a strange conclusion for this article. I'd edit it to: Among older nursing home residents with frailty who were receiving treatment with antihypertensive agents and had a systolic blood pressure below 130 mm Hg, an antihypertensive treatment step-down strategy was safe. You don't need to be a competitive athlete to have an athlete's heart. Regular exercise—especially over 5 hours weekly—reshapes the heart, boosting health and performance. bit.ly/3Gor9Lp

#ESCCongressVisuals from Hot Line 3👇 Given the progress made in the management of acute myocardial infarctions, it is important to understand whether beta blockers still have a role in those with mildly reduced EF. Will the REBOOT trial demonstrate a reduction in the rates of death, reinfarction or hospital admission for heart failure? 👇 The large combined Danish (DANBLOCK) and Norwegian (BETAMI) randomised beta-blocker trials provide evidence on the use of beta blockers post-MI in patients with preserved EF. Will there be a reduction in a composite of recurrent MI, all cause mortality, malignant VT, cardiac arrest and HF? 👇 REBOOT/BETAMI/DANBLOCK/CAPITAL-RCT: This large meta-analysis provides the largest dataset to date to determine the efficacy of beta blockers in improving outcomes post-MI in those with mildly reduced EF. 👇 Will noninvasive assessment permit identification of high risk post-MI patients with preserved LV function? How will ICD use post-MI change after the results are shared? Will this trial impact guidelines? 👇 #ESCCongress

#ESCCongressVisuals from Hot Line 5👇 DANCANVAS 2 attempts to reduce social inequality in cardiovascular health by performing an interventional screening trial on how best to decrease cardiovascular disease amongst individuals of low social status. 👇 PREVENT-MINS is a multicentre, superiority randomized controlled trial of ivabradine versus placebo. The primary objective is to determine the impact of ivabradine on the risk of MI in patients 30 days after noncardiac surgery 👇 The ABC-AF study evaluates whether a personalized treatment recommendation strategy-guided by the biomarkers improves outcomes in AF. How generalizable is this study? 👇 Patients with acute VTE in the setting of transient provoking factors are treated with short-term anticoagulation. However, the risk of recurrence may increase if there are enduring risk factors. Will patients receiving extended treatment of apixaban reduce recurrence rates? HI-PRO is a single-center, double-blind randomized trial that answers this question. 👇 #ESCCongress #ESCCongressVisuals
