🇲🇽📰I commented in @The_Dialogue's Latin America Advisor on the threats journalists in Mexico are facing. I explained, "While [President] Sheinbaum’s tone is less strident than her predecessor & mentor [AMLO], she continues to question the ethics and motives of journalists."

In his first encyclical, Pope Leo XIV quotes J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” “It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till.” (Photo: Vatican Media)

🇺🇸🧓🏡💰What a weird way to frame this article. Homeowners over 70 in the US own properties worth $13 trillion. The NYT frames this as a pending crisis for retirees including 1 scary case of a couple who nearly listed their home for $5m instead of $7m! nytimes.com/2026/05/09/bus…

🇲🇽☕️🏆POV: I’m trying to find the best espresso in Mexico City. Today I stopped by Cafe Equis in the centro histórico. Founded in 1930 it’s 1 of the city’s oldest coffee shops. They make a very old-school style of espresso. Where should I go next?

@NathanielParish El Jarocho in Coyoacan is quite old too. If I remember correctly, it’s from the 50s. They roast their own beans there too, so the flavor tends to vary slightly, but it’s consistently good.
