Caste is not a relic of the past. It is a highly refined, institutionalized, and continuously updated system of discrimination that operates with greater sophistication than conventional racism in many parts of the world. In this sense, India has perfected a more enduring and deeply entrenched form of graded inequality that continues to shape social, economic, and political life long after many other nations have formally dismantled overt racial hierarchies.
This structural reality demands not denial, but rigorous constitutional intervention, Ambedkarite social reform, and uncompromising enforcement of laws like the SC/ST (PoA) Act to achieve genuine equality and dignity for all.
