Heartbreaking 💔. As @chadwickboseman said, we’ve got to go to work. We need better therapies for the epidemic of colorectal cancer affecting young people today. RIP

Please check out our lab's AACR poster on a new antibody:antigen discovery platform focused on extracellular proteins. We found that patients treated with checkpoint inhibitors made novel functional autoantibodies to secreted proteins and surface receptors bit.ly/2V8NzFr

Proud to see colleagues from @YaleCancer and across @YaleMed take a knee in support of #whitecoats4blacklives and raise awareness around the impact of racism in the health of our patients, medical education, health care delivery, and communities

All credit to @Joseph_W_Kim who conceived of and led the multi-disease investigation. I was fortunate to be part of a team of committed investigators from around the country!

@davidrliu Raises question of whether some of the second phase of #COVID-19 is due to auto-reactivity of antibody response, beyond cytokine flair or viremia

As serological assays begin to identify people with presumed immunity to #COVID19 #SARSCoV2—the first who will restore our societies—understanding antibody response timing is critical. This study of 173 patients suggests ~15 days to robust IgM/IgG levels. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

A lot of important questions to answer. Might CITs be protective? Concerns about difficulty managing robust immune responses if infected? Concerns about the ability to appropriately diversify T-cell responses in these patients? Important to review unknowns with patients (4/4)

At the same time, I’ve seen exaggerated inflammatory responses in patients receiving CITs when they do finally develop a viral infection, at times very significant and life threatening. (3/4)

Appropriately, there’s been recent attention to the altered risks/benefits of chemo during the #COVIDー19 pandemic. Given concerns about significant cytokine release with COVID-19, how do colleagues on twitter feel about checkpoint inhibitor therapies in the COVID-19 era? (1/4)

@realDonaldTrump please consider for #COVID19 : Nationalize all hotels across the country temporarily & convert to patient beds with all essentials. Deploy national guards. Its very effective #quarantine. Hotels get paid & hospital resources saved for sicker pts. Win-win

Full steam ahead here at @yale_IR. We value our faculty, staff, and trainees for their dedication to our patients. We thank the New Haven community for selflessly practicing self quarantining and social distancing, allowing us to provide safe and necessary care. #COVID19
