@PrairieVeteran What the fuck are CANADADIANS? You certainly are not Canadian if you cannot spell it! Now you can go back to sniffing glue.

We have a PM who is from Europe. Now he wants us to join the European Union. Without consultation from Canadians. This issue is big enough it should be a national referendum. CANADADIANS should decide this. NOT a leader who wants Canada to look like his homeland.

@pbontoast1 I found out way too late in life that I had an affinity for Earth Sciences. I did really well studying Oceanography and Astronomy. Math, not so much.

@NavyGunnerboss Good for you. In hindsight these were excellent programmes to get a degree. As for probability and statistics, its my love language😅

@pbontoast1 Requirement for a BMASc was 30 credits; OPDP, SLC and MOC qualifications totaled 14 credits, so I had to complete 16 courses to graduate. Note to self: Probability and Statistics is a crappy subject to study while deployed at sea.

@mikethenavyguy I have never, not even for a single minute, regretted serving Canada in uniform. However, I now regret having had to serve twice for the USA since September 11. Ungrateful cowards!

Fuck all the way off with this nonsense. NATO is a defensive alliance. Wasn't consulted. The only time article 5 was ever invoked was because America was attacked. I gave 7 months of my life to your war in the name of NATO. We buried 158 soldiers. You're talking out of your ass.
Glenn Beck@glennbeck

This may be the greatest post Trump has ever written. Calling out NATO for not helping with the Iran war by saying “Go get your own oil,” and it needed to be said. NATO has leaned on American strength for decades, and now, when it matters, they hesitate. Put your big boy pants on NATO because it looks like you’re going to have to step up to the plate.

@IrreverentOtter accuracy matters, 50 years ago (1976), the oldest sub in service was Ojibwa at 11 Onondaga was 9 and Okanagan was 8. There was no looking at buying new subs then at all and the fleet was well supported. It was 87-88 that there was any look at next boats. So.. 29 years ago

Canada took 10 years to acquire a new service pistol. Canada took 15 years to acquire a new Ranger rifle. Canada took 25+ years to acquire new helicopters. 50 years later, Canada is still struggling to acquire new submarines, after buying 4 used British subs ( with the screen door option. ) Canadian Forces procurement can't handle a mixed anything.
Artur Wilczynski@Arturmaks

Canada can handle a mixed fleet. Let’s continue to deepen our defence relationship with the Nordics. 🇨🇦🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴🇫🇮🇮🇸

@FernwoodFreddie @ShaunPinnerUA While still serving in the RCN I deployed twice in support of the USA after 9/11; once in 2001-02 (7 months), and again in 2006-07 (6 months). I wouldn't even lift a finger for the present administration and their "Epstein Fury" war.

@hughcullit18358 @Ecliptic_09 The IRGC small boats are like a swarm of mosquitoes: fast and annoying. In '07 we escorted a damaged USN submarine through the SOH to Bahrain. The IRGC knew what we were doing and tried everything to penetrate our escort. We had to point the main gun and CIWS at them a few times.

I doubt the current generation of soldiers could handle the recoil from the large calibre SLR or lug the f**ker around for long and carry the weight of 6 mags of 7.62. The legal claims for back injuries would come flying in. I can hear the young ones now… ‘Here we f**king go again’ as the old and bold brigade bang on about their beloved SLR. It seems to me they’re under the impression that human evolution has led to today’s soldier, but they are not capable of withstanding the recoil of a slightly higher calibre weapon.’ Cheeky young spunk. I can hear you crying now, because your target didn't fall when hit, due to your pissy 5.56mm round. At least a target hit by a 7.62, ends up all over the f**king range. In my opinion they should never have got rid of the SLR. They should just have updated it and modified it. Miss you, old friend. BULLIES AND BULLSHIT 2 Warning! If easily offended, I really do advise you not to read this book. clivewardauthor.com Available on amazon amazon.co.uk/Bullies-Bullsh…

@hughcullit18358 @CliveWardauthor The first time I fired the C1 was while attending a Sea Cadet Junior Leadership summer camp at HMCS Acadia in Cornwallis. I was 14 years old, probably 125 lbs. The recoil nearly slid me off the table while firing prone.

@lacqui @RodKahx Another good reason to get hearing aids. Unless it's a show that uses actors with heavy accents, then I'll go back to subtitles for sure.

@RodKahx I use subtitles regularly. However, I got hearing aids last week and found I don't need them anymore so I'll probably stop.

@hughcullit18358 @ThomasWatsonCD Read up on the Battle of Mers-el-Kébir to see how not to do this. Devastating, useless loss of the French Mediterranean fleet and nearly 1300 service personnel in 1940.

@PatrickDusablon @JessieTweeting And apparently the tactics now are to swarm a ship with numerous drones from one direction while the large anti-ship missile comes from a different direction. Scary!

@JessieTweeting No kidding. Even back in 05 we trained to repel a small boat swarm. In this age of drones? There isn't a ship with enough machine gun mounts to provide the point-defence needed on the surface alone.

The US bombing the Iranian Navy out of existence fail to realize that you don’t actually need a traditional Navy to defend your territorial waters anymore. Sailors are going to die and ships will get sunk if this drags out.
MechCanuck 🤖 🔧@JessieTweeting

@DivebumChef It’s going to happen. I’m sure we’ll start seeing small unmanned platforms start being used. The US Navy may very well have chosen the “hard way” in learning how to defend. Crazy if they don’t think China is sending these to the IRGC.
