We strongly condemn the ongoing drone attacks against the Kurdistan Region over the last several days. Although we have not been part of the conflict, we continue to come under attack. Despite the ceasefire and ongoing peace talks, these attacks have killed at least five people and injured many more, in an effort to undermine the ceasefire and further harm our region. We reiterate our call on the federal government to take practical measures to end these attacks, and we urge our international partners to provide the equipment necessary to protect Kurdistan from these ongoing threats, including our civilian and energy infrastructure.

We welcome the recent announcement by President Donald Trump and His Excellency Abbas Araghchi regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, alongside the positive steps taken in the ongoing peace process, in particular the ceasefire in Lebanon. This development represents an important step toward de-escalation at a critical moment for the region. The reopening of this vital waterway not only restores confidence in global energy markets but also contributes directly to regional stability and economic recovery. Ghazal’s funeral was carried on the shoulders of her fellow female comrades. Today, we laid Ghazal to rest under heavy security;as if the Islamic Republic fears even the dead. Her burial was set for 2 p.m., yet the I.R. struck the Slemani cemetery with a missile.

Funeral of Iranian Kurdish female fighter Gazal Maulan(19), a member of the Komala Party, who lost her life in an Iranian drone strike in Sulaimaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan. So far, Six Iranian Kurdish Peshmerga Killed in Drone Attacks. Since the start of clashes between Iran and the United States–Israel on February 28, 2026, more than 170 missile and drone attacks have been carried out by Iran and its affiliated forces against the positions of Iranian Kurdish parties in the Kurdistan Region. Iran is ignoring the spirit of the ceasefire again. An Iranian drone strike targeted the Iranian opposition Komala Party in Surdash, in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, leaving at least three people seriously injured. Although there is no explicit agreement within the ceasefire that prohibits these strikes, it complicates peace terms and risks a broader escalation.
