This week, I prepared a special letter addressed to the President of the United States and to Congress. And yesterday, the letter was officially delivered to the institutions in Washington. It is quite rare for the leader of another state to address both the President and Congress of the United States simultaneously with a letter. But the situation now requires action, swift and effective action.
It is important that America hear Ukraine. We understand that much of the world’s attention is currently focused on the war in Iran. But the war here in Europe must also be brought to an end – a very bloody war that is already in its fifth year at full scale.
The sooner we are able to provide greater protection against ballistic threats, the sooner we will be able to make diplomacy work. As long as Russia continues to rely on missiles, its interest in diplomacy is not real. We must correct this. And we can do so only together with America.
Ukraine is grateful to America for all its support. And Ukraine will be even more grateful for a dignified peace and guaranteed security. All of this is possible – if there is sufficient determination.
Neighbor last night had his lawn guy going at 630pm
I feel like all lawn work with loud tools must be done between 730a-4p.
Outside of that and you’re rude
"Hurt" is not an original by Johnny Cash. The song was written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) in 1994 for the album The Downward Spiral. Rick Rubin had to insist several times on Cash recording his version, at first Johnny found the idea completely insane because the original version is industrial and noisy. At 71, already very ill, almost blind and with trembling hands, Cash completely transformed the band.
The iconic video, directed by Mark Romanek, was filmed at the House of Cash (his own museum). June Carter Cash appears looking at him fondly, the video was shot in February 2003, a few months before she died (May) and Johnny himself (September).
Trent Reznor was so moved that he declared, "This song is not mine anymore." It is considered one of the best covers of all time.
This is the Festival del Costillar Criollo in Argentina, where more than a thousand beef rib racks are slow-cooked over wood embers during a huge celebration of traditional gaucho (South American cowboy) culture and barbecue traditions.
🚨 "An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed..." - President Donald J. Trump
@WhiteHouse Calling it now, Israel is going to bomb something, Iran is going to say they don't who said we had a deal, and Trump will call for a temporary cease fire. Wash and repeat.
We’ve just learned of the horrifying plot to assassinate @IvankaTrump — a devoted wife, daughter, mother, & someone with no personal quarrel with the Iranian regime. She was targeted to bring pain to her father & to her husband. There is nothing more sick and demented than that…
@SECNAV The unions are one of the biggest downfalls of the shipyards. The other is favoritism and the good old boy management system. Management is a cancer that replicates itself through favoritism or who can be controlled. No good manager last long. They're removed or controlled.
We’re not buying into foreign shipyards—we’re having them invest in U.S. shipbuilding.
By bringing their operations stateside, we can crank out our ships quicker and create over half a million American jobs.
It’s time to breathe new life into our nation’s industrial base.
@SECNAV The way we build ships is horrendous. Multiple crafts fighting for space to work. I've had compartments painted multiple times while waiting for Navy welding inspectors. Then I have to send a crew in to burn paint and wire brush every weld to be inspected.
@SECNAV I'm surprised everytime a ship sails from any of our shipyards, and I worked in one for 10 years. The whole system is broken. From the people that are hired, to Navy contracts, to training. It's all failing. We need a full reboot, top down.
@SECNAV They have a good system and slave labor. That's the secret sauce. We have a crap system and over paid crybabies managed by ineptitude. I worked at Ingalls for 10 years. The place is absolutely broken and from what I know of NNS, it has the same problems.
@SecVetAffairs@DeptVetAffairs I've been waiting since February for the VBA to tell me when a specific service treatment record was added to VBMS. I was denied a claimed condition then years later granted the same condition with no backpay. I've been working on this backpay issue for over 2 years.
VA employees are the greatest in the world, but the successes they achieve every day at @DeptVetAffairs are rarely acknowledged. I reminded Congress that our employees have worked tirelessly to make healthcare more accessible, lower wait times, and deliver benefits faster than ever. Veterans are seeing the change and I’m proud to be part of this team.
