we shipped gpt-5.5 instant today to chat; it's rolling out over the next couple days to everyone. for this model, we focused on factuality, crushing hacks, and improving the baseline intelligence. 5.5 is a pretty big step forward on all three. it is much smarter, significantly less likely to hallucinate, and just more delightful to talk to. there is always more to do but i'm pretty excited about this one!

A non-ADHD person will take the inconsistency as rejection of them and see forgetting things as a lack of consideration vs a brain that does stuff differently.

@DaveShapi right but when you try a product for free and the answer is "i don't wanna buy it" you're justified. the business model is due for a change though. they should allow free premium usage but reduce prompt limits to 2 or 3 instead of this 20 or so. they all may follow suit after

I think I understand why most people think AI is stupid.
ChatGPT free edition is exceptionally useless.
Since only a few million people even use paid AI, this explains the horrendously skewed view that most people have of AI.

I'm really not trying to start debates, as a streamer and avid gamer who has struggled with bad internet for almost 20 years, it's nice to finally have good internet without bankrupting myself.
