It’s official! We are now the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment! The DWEE has been created by merging the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources and NDEE.

Here are some economic facts for #RecycleTuesday! In a 2020 Recycling Economic Information study from the EPA, the agency found that in a single year, recycling and reuse activities in the US accounted for 681,000 jobs, $37.8 billion in wages, and $5.5 billion in tax revenues.

NDEE is accepting applications for the 2024 Clean Diesel Rebate program! Applications are due Friday, July 25, 2025, for rebates to replace old diesel school buses and diesel trucks with newer, cleaner-burning models. More: dee.nebraska.gov/aid/air-loans-…

ICYMI – NE will receive $1.6 million+ in Brownfields grants from the @EPA! Funds will be used by @CityHastingsNE to clean up the former Hastings Middle School site and by the SENDD to conduct 30 Phase I and 15 Phase II environmental site assessments in its region.

Another successful year of electronic waste recycling collections! 📺🖥️ We thank residents in our District for taking advantage of the program to properly dispose of old TVs, computers, etc. This year, we collected 28k+ lbs. of e-waste & have collected 550k+ lbs. since 2014.
