@GMB It's good that Reform can be always relied upon to pick the wrong hill to die on.

Good Morning Britain
Reform UK's Deputy Leader Richard Tice will present a bill to the Commons today, enabling public appeals against prison sentences that are perceived as being too harsh or lenient. It will be called 'Lucy's Bill', named after Lucy Connolly, who is serving a 31-month sentence for inciting racial hatred in a social media post after the Southport attacks. She urged her followers to "set fire" to hotels housing asylum seekers.

On Iran. There are arguments for supporting the Israeli and US intervention. (I agree with them). There are also arguments for opposing it. But the British people have a right to know where their Government and Prime Minister stand on the issue. That shouldn't be controversial.

I've supported assisted dying in principle for as long as I can remember but this bill needs to be voted down. If we're that desperate for it it can come back as primary legislation and be done properly and with die respect for safeguards. If it can be.

🚨 NC16 has been defeated. 261 v 208 If you meet the criteria, you will be given help to end your life even if it is because you feel you are a burden, are under financial pressure, are depressed, in insecure housing or cannot access the services you need.

Not to mention diversity and abundance of supply i.e. a good mix of different technologies each with its own strengths and weaknesses, plus plenty of each for redundancy.

Renewables without suitable compensation, which thankfully the UK is installing en masse to provide the system inertia otherwise lacking in static/DC generation. The trick isn't to not have lots of renewables but to have a secure system, whatever form of generation you rely on.

‘Experts said in the immediate aftermath of the power cut that a reliance on net zero energy had left Spain and Portugal vulnerable to the blackouts because of the way renewable power is generated’ telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/…
