@haalaphrodyke Was hoping it would be fine, but eh, Clayface might honestly pivot DC to smaller scale stuff. Plus like, we have the Superman sequel next year and Gunn has never missed. Frankly, this might be necessary to ease on the shared universe thing since I’m not so hot on that part.

@taboochai I mean, putting aside the fact that a huge chunk of the same people who worked on these movies are still at the studio. Including the guy who directed the recent Toy Story movie. I can agree that a bit of edge is lost with recent Pixar, but this reeks of terminal onlineness.

My friend and I calls it “the Disneyfication of Pixar”. The Golden Era of Pixar films were effectively made by dudebros who were willing to go through the extra mile to deliver stories that would resonate with a wide audience because of an innate passion for animation.

@EPM106 Things are probably going to work out, but I also sense a shift in priorities if Clayface ends up being a success. Frankly, I’d much rather have DCs output mostly be smaller scale, genre films instead of big blockbusters focused on the universe. Gunn will probably stay too.

@AxelTalksFilm I mean, Clayface might work out and make a ton given its lower budget and how horror tends to do well. Things will work out. Then again, I had this sort of faith before with the MCU back in Phase 4, so I need to be careful counting my chickens before they hatch.

@johnny_tmanV2 If Clayface works out, I hope DC pivots to mostly smaller scale, isolated, genre movies. It’s probably a better way for these movies to go given that generic action blockbusters are kinda worn out. Save those for the big characters and experiment else where.

@Deathcheat6 Never had an issue with it. Honestly feel that the negative overreaction is also why I’m a bit defensive of Dial despite its many problems. Idk, sometimes you vibe with a movie despite it objectively being kinda mid. I guess I’m just predisposed to not be overly picky with Indy.

@NathanGraviteh 36 is honestly the limit both in market options and in talent and even that’s stretching it. Though, knowing the NhL, the league is probably eying Phoenix, Atlanta, and some other American market to fill out the list at this point before considering another Canadian team.

Don't really feel like the NHL needs more than 32 teams, but Austin or Houston are NO-brainers for the league.
Stars/DFW have become one of the biggest growth spots for hockey. Houston probably makes more sense with the population, but Austin would RULE.
