@Zone3Garden I’m telling you what polling said. Also Alberta government reduced signature requirements to get referendum on ballot. So congrats on hitting the minimum. Most Albertans don’t want to leave Canada.

@NeiOCo As opposed to shrinking Ontario which is the heart of Canada & its govt? I saw a recent poll for the likelihood of a referendum being held which was at ~66% - released AFTER Stay Free Alberta declared they have enough signatures to trigger a referendum... only 34% wrong. 🤷‍♀️

Most of Canada's exported crude oil originates from Alberta (around 85–91% in recent years), with much smaller shares from Saskatchewan (roughly 8–9%) and Newfoundland and Labrador (typically 2–4.5%). [cer-rec.gc.ca/en/data-analys…]
Neil O'Connor@NeiOCo

@ikwilson Well a portion comes from Saskatchewan and Newfoundland. Also a large portion comes from Sask and is upgraded in Alberta.

@therealmrbench @pamela_gorrie Because in Canada it has to be Halal? Because even though Canada breeds its own chickens they’re only for export and we import ours from the furthest and most expensive place possible? Because Carney implemented a new chicken tax due to chicken farts killing the environment?

@stocksnstuffeh @therealmrbench Yes we have a supply management system. On average the price is about a CAD$1.50 difference. We avoid farmers boom / bust cycle like US it also makes a family farm still attainable. Also healthier meat I.e. 2022-26 we lost 6% to avian flu US lost 14%.

🇨🇦 has a poultry supply management system, just like milk, dairy and eggs: 1. Production quotas that strictly limits production. 2. High import tariffs (often 200%+) block cheaper foreign options. 3. Cost-based pricing that guarantees farmers a profit regardless of how badly they run their farms. The 🇺🇸 emphasizes efficiency, competition, and lower costs for consumers. With the highest grocery costs in the G7, which system would you rather have? #cdnpoli

It is absolutely ridiculous that a court is deciding whether Albertans can collect petition signatures. Democracy in Canada is nearly dead. Floor crossers, ideological judges, and worst of all, an apathetic population.

@DavidJPba Why we have a constitution you have to abide by it. And it’s the courts job to interpret it. You can change it you just need to follow it to do that as well.

Official DoD biographies explicitly state Sec. Hegseth 'participated in a number of active-duty deployments' to Guantanamo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The Bronze Stars were for sustained meritorious service in combat zones. National Guard doesn't mean 'not real deployment' as those who cite it seem to imply. These were full federal mobilizations in support of the Global War on Terror.

If you know NOTHING ELSE about Canadian Politics, know that this alone is why Alberta needs out. 34 out of 37 opted to go blue in the federal election. By all rights, a mega supermajority. 0% of them have any say, federally- and if they do, the needs of Quebec and Ontario come first. There is no fair deal we can make with the present framework- where 92% of the will of the province is consistently ignored, while people at the opposite end continue oppressive lawmaking, regulation, culture, and views towards Alberta.

@CalgaryDave @Johnemonroe @nuttyskadork I’m just pointing out the clarification that only around 63% of Albertans support the CPC the remainder support more progressive parties. I understand the first past the post system… frankly it would be much more appropriate use of time to change the system as opposed to leaving

@Johnemonroe @NeiOCo @nuttyskadork 92% of our effective constituencies. Which part of my post mentions voters? The ridings are not being represented by the elected officials destined to get that representation. Here's a shocker... even if they vote orange, green, or red- they'll still not be represented.
