Niagara Region is a perfect example — the 2022 Canada Summer Games generated $312 million in economic activity, welcomed thousands of athletes, and left behind Canada Games Park, which continues to host major competitions like last year’s 2025 Ontario Parasport Games. The legacy of great sporting events lives on long after the closing ceremony.

Our government is investing more than $855K through the @NOHFC to renew parks and outdoor spaces in Sault Ste. Marie. Alongside Minister Lumsden, MPP Rosenberg, and Mayor Shoemaker, it was great to visit one of the Soo’s spectacular parks and see where this investment is going firsthand. Upgrades like these do more than just enhance recreation opportunities, they strengthen local infrastructure that support healthy, active lifestyles and make the communities across our region more welcoming places to live, work and invest.
