Mad Men does an incredible job resisting the temptation to have real people from the 60s appear which makes it all the more effective that Don's surrogate father figure is literally Conrad Hilton and he enters scenes like Kramer on Seinfeld

@gfaunaa You’re not wrong lol I have a soft spot for the “Music from and inspired by” albums. Iron Giant CD by Rhino is like 3 songs used in the movie and the rest are 50s Space age songs that just evoke the atmosphere. They have their place!

@gfaunaa Yeah, sometimes I have to step outside myself and realize my relationship with going to the movies isn’t always 1:1 with the average audience. If I want to see something, I find a way to see it, even if it’s one of multiple things I do in a weekend

Never understood the “box office would have been higher if not for (major sporting event)” Are you glued to your couch for an entire weekend? There isn’t a 3 hour window somewhere outside of the game you want to watch?
