James Breeding with the game-winning play. (Sort of kidding. Michigan is awesome but jeez).

Damn. UConn was an inch away three times in that sequence from changing the game.

Enjoy the game, UConn fans. This is not normal! (Well, maybe it’s the new normal).

Reed has improved by miles and miles from the FT line as the season has progressed. A big key in these games.

Final: UConn 71, Illinois 62. Stairway to Seven has one more step. Huskies dispatch yet another Big 10 team (6 straight in NCAAT) and will play for 7th national title Monday night.

UConn’s roll continues. Not the prettiest but so, so impressive tonight.

Where did that foul call come from? The 20-yard line?

UConn women had a hell of a season. Tough finish, though.

@CBSSportsCBB @JonRothstein Is this from memory? Amazing, if so. No one (well, maybe one or two folks) has followed UConn has closely as me since 1990 and I’m not sure I could bat 1.000 (maybe .985😉)

This is a column I guess I'll only write once. My favorite Final Four memories, on the occasion of my impending retirement following nearly 26 years as Senior Writer at @sportingnews. (I'll still be around some, just not all the time 😉) sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-basket…

@nytimes @TheAthletic Great list but missing another UConn entry that ranks up there. Tate George against Clemson in the 1990 Sweet 16. (And Scott Burrell’s pass to George was better than Grant Hill’s toss to Laettner in 1992)

From @TheAthletic: Braylon Mullins's shot for UConn to beat Duke was so instantly classic that some will argue it was already the most iconic shot in NCAA Tournament history. These are the most iconic shots in the history of the men’s tournament. nyti.ms/4djb9bv

@MattNorlander Never thought, throughout the entire game, UConn would lose to George Mason that day. Assumed Denham Brown’s shot was going in. Always felt UConn had a chance yesterday but I admit I wasn’t sure Mullins’ shot was going in.

Same school. Same building. Same round of the tournament. Two shots. Two opposing outcomes. Twenty years apart. (Getty Images)
