They have set the standards, and by their own that means they ripped off Dragon Quest. Ironically you can use their own standards and claim Pokopia is a ripoff of Dragon Quest Builders

@Neitsuke @TN_20_ @Tuggernut4 the biggest problem with palworld is that there are several similar looking designs AND the artstyle of the game is clearly meant to mostly imitate the pokemon style nobody would ever confuse a dq monster for a pokemon because the art styles are so radically different

This pal is clearly inspired by Kyogre which isn't inherently a bad thing. However because palworld creatures are mostly inspired by pokemon it makes their designs feel pretty uninspired. Palworld's designs would greatly benefit from taking more inspiration outside of pokemon

@Firejacob66 @ZetaDragonRoar No ? I played Pokemon through generation 1 to 7. Gen5 and gen6 are my favorites but objectively the best were HG/SS. DOesn't mean the others are bad. I did not play gen8 and up because at that time Pokemon and Nintendo overall were pissing me off. Has nothing to do with nostalgia
