One of our OPS managers got someone housing today. People cant really be thier best selves with no place to sleep, shower and go to the washroom. Our team goes above and beyond to help people. Its hard to watch our frontline workers get abused, most who live and work in the dtes. OPS is a safe haven for so many vulnerable people. We provide training, we provide recovery support, mental health support. We are a good neighbor we regularly meet with community members and address concerns. Last week we met with Carol Lee and folks from Millennium Development to come up with ideas to work together. I think everyone wants to help no one wants to see people dying on the street. We in many ways do the work of health care workers. We keep people out if the hospital and out of ambulances. Most importantly we keep people alive and we want people to have a chance people who may have never gotten one. I understand there are some valid concerns but we can't address them by pushing people out in the street in the situation we are in with the drug supply as toxic as it is. We are still in crisis. It only takes 10 minutes to die. @oddfellowsent

If we banned alcohol tomorrow and started arresting people for drinking, we wouldn’t end alcohol use. We’d create an unregulated supply run by organized crime that would eventually see people dying from what’s in it! Sound familiar?
