If you divide N17Billion across 8,804 wards, it comes to roughly N1.9Million per ward. What meaningful development can N2Million realistically deliver at Ward level? Its difficult to see how this allocation translates into tangible impact for Nigerians but another avenue to loot

Dangote wants to raise up to $5 BILLION from Nigerians and global investors. Some people will build wealth from this. Others will lose sleep, rent money… and peace of mind. Same IPO. Completely different outcomes. Aliko Dangote is preparing to list Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals. Valuation? $20B–$50B. Potentially Africa’s largest IPO ever. This is not just big news. This is a once-in-a-decade market event. But let’s slow down the hype. Many Nigerians will rush in when it opens. Not because they understand refining, margins, or valuation… But because: “I don’t want to miss out.” That mindset has ruined more portfolios than bad luck. Let’s be real. Some people will invest: • Their rent • Their emergency fund • Borrowed money Not strategy. Just pressure and vibes. That’s not investing. That’s gambling with better branding. Here’s why this IPO could work: Nigeria imports fuel massively. A local mega refinery changes that equation. If execution is strong: • Huge, consistent demand • FX savings for the country • Potentially strong revenue base That’s a serious long-term story. Also, scale matters. This isn’t a small startup. It’s a massive industrial asset with regional influence. If it operates efficiently and pricing aligns… Cash flow could be very powerful. That’s why global investors are watching closely. But now, the other side nobody wants to hear: Big valuation = high expectations. At $40B–$50B, a lot of future success is already priced in. If performance disappoints even slightly… The stock can punish late entrants. Operational risk is real: • Refinery efficiency must be consistent • Policy changes can affect margins • FX volatility can distort earnings • Pricing politics in Nigeria is unpredictable This is not a “set and forget” play. And here’s the biggest danger: FOMO. People will buy because others are buying. No research. No plan. No exit strategy. When price drops 10–20%… Panic selling begins. Cycle repeats. So what should you actually do? Understand this clearly: This could be the biggest opportunity of the year… Or the biggest crowd mistake. Both can be true at the same time. Simple rules to stay safe: • Don’t invest money you can’t afford to lose • Don’t touch your emergency fund • Don’t borrow to invest • Understand what you’re buying If you can’t explain it simply… don’t buy it. This is not financial advice. It’s a reminder: Wealth is not built by chasing noise. It’s built by discipline, patience, and clarity. So tell me, If this IPO drops tomorrow… Are you investing with strategy… Or just trying not to feel left out?

@aonanuga1956 Bayo, I am utterly surprised that with the kind of office you occupy, you can come out or agree with this kind of lame excuse regarding the shoddy job executed by Wike. This kind of wind that you termed "NATURAL" disaster must have blown off all the building roofs in Kugbo.

Wike on Kugbo Bus Terminal, Abuja “It was a natural disaster that no one had control over. Only roofing sheets were affected, and the damages are already being fixed. The terminal did not collapse. The structure is intact. What happened was that strong winds blew off parts of the roof. Repairs are ongoing. We thank God no life was lost”.

I heard reliably that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is plotting the removal of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja. The plot is to commence this week, with Government Query to be issued against the Olubadan, citing his absence at the failed coronation of High Chiefs in Ibadanland two weeks ago, and other allegations. As for us, we will be watching the Sìgìdì of Seyi Makinde tó fẹ́ se eré ẹ̀tẹ́... ~ Ayo Fayose

@TheGreatestIFE, this is deeply disappointing. Of all the credible, accomplished individuals available, you chose not to invite figures like @NOIweala, @tundefashola, or @ProfOsinbajo. Instead, you settled for @PeterObi someone widely criticized for giving inconsistent and often contradictory answers to questions. What exactly is the message you intend to send to your audience? That inconsistency, half-truths, and misleading narratives are acceptable standards of leadership? An institution’s choice of keynote speaker reflects its values, priorities and the kind of mindset it seeks to shape. Unfortunately, this particular choice sends the wrong signal. It does not elevate discourse, it diminishes it. It does not inspire confidence, it invites skepticism. This decision is not just questionable, it is outright embarrassing. By elevating a figure perceived as unreliable and inconsistent, you are undermining the integrity and reputation of the institution itself.

PRESS STATEMENT In the last 24 hours, social media has exploded over my interview with Mehdi Hassan, albeit with varied opinions. Let me set the record straight. When I signed on to the privileged job granted to me by Mr. President, I was well aware of its implications. Selling ice cream, looking fine, and seeking the praises of men were never part of it. Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors. But the task of promoting and defending the President and his administration is what I do with ease and joy. I am prepared to appear before any interviewer, anywhere in the world, any day and at any time, to defend this government and its policies. I have never, and will never, subscribe to ducking or dodging interviews on matters that concern promoting and defending the administration I was appointed to serve. It is the least of what is required of me. Head to Head contacted me requesting an interview, stating that they wanted to challenge our government on security, the economy, and corruption. Nowhere in our almost six months of communication did they mention that they were going to challenge my past. If that had been their plan, ethically and professionally, they were supposed to inform me so I could prepare my response. But that’s okay, ethically, that is on them, not on me. I refused to swallow the pill of Mehdi’s “opposition research-style journalism,” and even today, if you carefully compare what he read as quotes from organisations and groups, you will see that many were inaccurate and some were outright fake news. But I will leave that for another day. As for what I said about President Tinubu in the past, I am glad those were things I said when I was in the opposition saddle with such zeal. It is all politics. Half of Donald Trump’s cabinet is made up of people who once spoke against him, and quite a number of people in our own cabinet also spoke against President Tinubu in the past. Those things do not bother him if you care to know. The majority of the naysayers are members of the opposition and their sympathisers. It does not bother me one bit. Their temporary excitement over the interview has not lasted and will not last, because it does not take away their obvious problem of lack of vision, mission in conducting and managing a political party; yet they seek to manage Nigeria. Clearly they have no path to victory and no alternative policies or program for the Nigerian people. And if they say they do, they can as well go to head to head and be interrogated on that; as the saying in Hausa goes “Ga fili Ga doki” I conclude by thanking the many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who sent in their commendations over my brave defence of our government in an interview where the anchor would hardly let you answer a question unless it suited his narrative. I still have admiration and respect for Mehdi Hassan as arguably the best debater on the planet. I look forward to part two of the Head to Head interview, and I am glad that by then questions about my past will no longer be news so that we can focus on our administration’s policies, programs and what we have achieved so far. Stay tuned. – D.H Bwala Special Adviser to President on Media and Policy Communication (State House) Saturday March 7, 2026

PRESIDENCY: TINUBU HALE AND HEARTY The Presidency has allayed fears over the health condition of President Bola Tinubu, who is on a state visit to Turkey. Speaking on the incident in Ankara whereby the president stumbled during a welcome reception, the presidency said the incident was caused by the not well-laid blue carpet. President Tinubu has since resumed his official assignment, and he is currently in a bilateral meeting with Turkish authorities after which they will address a press conference.

Good news for our dear country 🇳🇬 Nigeria’s external reserves have now crossed $46 billion, the highest level in eight years. This strengthens our economy, improves our ability to support the naira, helps meet international obligations, and builds investor confidence. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on serious economic rebuilding. The reforms may be tough, but they are delivering measurable results. Step by step, Nigeria is regaining financial strength and global credibility. The work continues. The results are showing.
