There Assyrian: Tama Hebrew: Sham Arabic: Hunak (or Hnak). It’s interesting to see the sound shift where a Proto-Semitic consonant evolved into‘sh’ in Hebrew,‘t’ in Assyrian & ‘th’ in Arabic. Eight:Shmone (Heb),Tmane (Asr),thmania(Arb) Snow:Shaeleg( Heb),Talga (Asr),Thalej(Arb)

@NenosNshemoon The sh/t/th pattern is also found in “garlic.” Hebrew: shūm שום Aramaic: tūmā ܬܘܡܐ Arabic: thūm ثوم Akkadian: šūmū 𒋧 Interesting how Hebrew & Akkadian’s initial consonant are the same in words like garlic, while Aramaic & Arabic’s consonant are more alike than with the prior 2

From Fire Worshippers to the IRGC, the Persians have been killing Nineveh's Christians for 1700 years. Nineveh, the heartland of Syriac Christianity, is today held hostage by Iranian militias. The irony is that the Persian persecution of Nineveh is as ancient as the story of Mar Behnam. Mar Behnam was a 4th century Assyrian prince who converted to Christianity & was killed by his father under the orders of Shapur II, the Persian ruler. 1700 years ago the Fire Worshipping Persians waged an epic war against Christians. Many Syriac hymns are based on this persecution. In 2015, ISIS levelled Mar Benham's monastery in Nineveh to the ground. Built 1700 years ago. The crown jewel of Syriac history, the monastery had Syriac & Armenian inscriptions & a rare 1295 Uighur inscription above Mar Behnam's tomb. They blew it up along with hundreds of Syriac texts. The irony today? 1700 years after the Persians killed Mar Benham, the Nineveh Plains is AGAIN hostage by Persian Supremacists.

@DavidtheSyriac From your profile picture, I gather you’re a Christian who follows Syriac church, but why do you show such hatred toward Assyrians? Didn’t your faith teach you that love is the greatest virtue, even above faith and hope? Why are you LARPing as a Christian?

@Shahrizor That’s what dictators do-Saddam had his portrait displayed in every city, town, village, office, and street. But that doesn’t mean everyone was Baathist or supported him. Also, there’s only one Newroz - the Persian Newroz
