May 12, 2001: Exactly 25-years ago today was Usama bin Laden’s preferred date to launch what became known as the 9/11 attacks. He was enamored with the attack occurring on 5/12, which was 7 months after the USS Cole bombing. KSM pushed back, arguing hijackers were not ready.

May 8, 2001: VP Cheney tasked with preparations for managing a possible WMD attack & national preparedness. 9/11 plotting continued unabated & 9/11 mastermind KSM began grooming a potential source w/means to obtain WMDs and to ship them thru US ports.

@SassyMetisChick In all fairness, Gen X parents did rely on "older generations" to care for us. We had Mr. Drummond; Nel Carter; Optimus Prime; Papa Smurf; and Flint. And now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
