The NetX testnet technical overview (without access to any documentation or smart contract code, it is based on deep testnet crawling and contract decoding driven by agent-based deterministic local inference) showed a modular system architecture, not a blank EVM sandbox. The key findings were $NETX as native gas, a 7-validator PoA structure, reserved system contracts, cross-chain primitives, governance components and a staged pre-mainnet design. @netx_world #NETXTestNetFindings The second important piece from the NetX testnet is the technical overview. At first glance, it looked like a small EVM-compatible network with low activity. But once the RPC, validators and reserved contracts were mapped, the picture changed. NetX testnet was structured like a system chain. It had a clear network snapshot: Chain ID: 587 / 0x24b Native asset: NETX Consensus: PoA-like behavior Validators observed: 7 Client: custom Geth-based implementation Block timing: around 3 seconds User activity: very low, close to zero TPS Custom header field: milliTimestamp That matters because the testnet was not only testing whether contracts could deploy. It was testing the foundation of a chain with its own validator layer, system contracts, relay logic and future governance path. The most important concept here is NETX-as-gas. In the observed testnet, NETX was the native execution asset. That means contract calls, deployments, system interactions and settlement-style operations were priced in NETX. This is the first layer of token utility: not narrative utility, but execution utility. The system contracts were the real signal. The architecture pattern is also important. These contracts were deployed at reserved system addresses and were not detected as simple user contracts. They referenced each other through fixed system addresses, forming an interconnected base-layer framework rather than isolated smart contracts. That is the difference between: “someone deployed a few contracts” and “the chain has a protocol-level system map.” The estimated flow is easy to understand: · Validators secure the network. · SlashIndicator penalizes misbehavior. · SystemReward and CandidateHub distribute incentives. · RelayerHub coordinates relayers, fees and transfer logic. · LightClient verifies external state. · GovHub coordinates governance, channels and cross-chain packages. This is why the testnet is interesting even with low user activity. Low activity means it was not yet a production network. There were unresolved selectors in critical contracts, potential administrative centralization, large balances inside system contracts, custom client behavior and staged components that still required activation, verification and public documentation. So the right conclusion is balanced: The NetX testnet was not mainnet. It was not production-ready. But it was also not empty. It showed a coherent technical foundation for a modular EVM-compatible network where $NETX acts as gas, system contracts coordinate the base layer, and future governance, staking and settlement infrastructure can be built on top. hello, i had some questions for you and @michaelsuttonil after the hf, with the coming of based zk apps, the vprogs upgrade would mostly be marginally useful for synchronous composability / non-fragmented liquidity scenarios right? if that's the case, amongst the options of covenants/zk - dagknight - bps upgrades and vprogs, it would make more sense to shift the focus away from vprogs and level up the network one notch towards the RTD vision. perhaps after 25-40 bps and DK, before 100 bps aims, the vprogs work can be more of a center focus even after 100 bps perhaps. also what apps would be your priority to see on the network this year, and is it expected that external efforts carry the app development down the road or does the core team also have some plans other than your coordination markets idea?

Tocatta is a principled implementation of bitcoin-originating covenants which, if ever implemented in bitcoin, would use the op_cat workaround. It is the default method to introduce programmability into a thin verification-oriented L1 to preserve its decentralized lean value prop. vprogs are outside core’s focus precisely because we are optimizing for usability over theoretical superiority. Took this quote from grok when trying to gather all my thoughts together on the future path for kaspa:native . I am going to just brain dump to see if someone can find what I am missing or just agree with my take on things. Lost focus on building one thing like vprogs was inevitable to happen. There is no way to stop the fragmentation of devs, funding, and efforts going all over. This is because the nature of this market is free and users want to operate for profit. No one wants to lose. All in focus on cores desires for smart contract like programability is high risk high reward when Kaspa does not have forever to just be on the sideline trying to attract users with "hey look whats coming." What is a bit unfortunate is seeing core shift away from trying to market Kaspa as being money to solely view Kaspa as this MoE powerhouse to allow you to do many things. I get the shift but the problem is the "many things" are simply not many. I could be wrong for this feeling but this is simply what I am getting. Kaspa has a narrative crisis that is for sure but I think the biggest mistake is to try and leave the money narrative all together. I simply point this out cause I fear I am seeing signs of abandonment of this all together. Giving humanity a better Money IS the biggest market. This is the biggest way I can onboard any noob into crypto with Kaspa.
