@DriveTeslaca I think the Luce is a test bed for something else. The only way for them to move this car is to force it onto brand loyalists that want to stay in Maranello's good graces.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but is Ferrari really going to find buyers for this at $640K?
Their customers are extremely loyal to the brand, often willing to wait years and pay significant premiums.
Ferrari buyers are also drawn as much to the emotion, sound, and unmistakable styling of a Ferrari as they are to the performance.
This? This looks nothing like what you would expect from Ferrari, and when you add in the fact it's an EV and there'll be no roar of the engine, what's left?

Chris Camillo says there's no lifestyle difference between $20M and $200M
"Almost everyone I know is just chasing a bigger number. They sold their company, they had success, so the number keeps going up and up and up. What the hell are you going to do with all that money? I don't get it. I just don't understand it"
"At a certain point when you have enough friends that own yachts and vacation homes and fly private, you kind of don't need to spend any of your own money anymore anyway because you're just doing their stuff"
"I don't understand what the difference is between $20M and $200M, I don't know how your life changes between $20M and $200M"

@ScottHickle I lived in Japan for a bit. Some aspects are more advanced than the US, but holy fuck is there a ton of antiquated bureaucracy that hinders growth. It's unreal.
Can confirm, things move faster in the US. MUCH faster.
English

All my life I had this impression that Japan was more technologically advanced than we were.
Now that I’m traveling here, I’m surprised at the lack of self driving cars.
We have at least 4 brands in Austin!
I definitely took for granted how fast things move at home :)

@darrelltalksfi When the missus was car shopping last year, she arrived to these two as final options. After bringing up running costs and crunching the numbers, the choice was clear.
Not a day goes by where she regrets her Model Y Performance.

I asked @grok to give me the best settings for cooking chicken thighs in my air fryer earlier today.
Can confirm. Grok cooks. 🧑🍳

This is a very good take by @JasonCammisa . Most of the hate I got when I switched to EVs was from people who have never driven one for a significant amount of time. Mind you, I was a non-believer for YEARS. I spent most of my life working in the performance automotive world, so EVs went against everything I stood for.
After a year of owning my Model 3, I can honestly say I'll likely never go back to a gas vehicle, but that doesn't mean the two are mutually exclusive. Nothing will replace the feeling of getting on the throttle of a 700+hp supercharged Hemi, Coyote V8 or LS (I've driven many), the same way a gasoline engine will never get close to the instant torque of a Model S Plaid or a Taycan GTS Sport Turismo (I've driven neither, but I can only assume LOL).

It’s true. @JasonCammisa knows what’s up.

@ImBradleyJ @cptdankkk Yeah, that's fair. A for effort. D for execution? Hahaha.
English

@NeuralCharge @cptdankkk Yeah man well, as stupid and useless as the Metaverse turned out to be, at least they tried. That’s more or less the point. And believe me- I’m no Zuck fanboy LOL

Mark Zuckerberg says Apple's lack of innovation since the iPhone will lead to its decline
"They haven't really invented anything great in a while. Steve Jobs invented the iPhone, and now they're kind of sitting on it 20 years later"
"Year over year, I'm not even sure they're selling more iPhones at this point. Part of it is that each generation doesn't actually get that much better, so people are taking longer to upgrade"
"They built stuff like AirPods, which are cool, but they've thoroughly hamstrung the ability for anyone else to build something that can connect to the iPhone"
"I'm pretty optimistic that because they've been so off their game in terms of not really releasing many innovative things... eventually they'll get beat by someone"

People in the comment that are up in arms about a pre-production, likely R&D vehicle, with a steering wheel make me laugh. They could very well be testing other vehicle systems that don’t require FSD, or there could be a regulatory restriction requiring human input in certain conditions, or a million other reasons that we don’t know about.
Move on.
