I just finished my full-stack project. Barista Wanted is a platform that connects coffee shops with baristas in need of emergency work. I'm so proud of myself 🎉🥳 Link to the project: baristawanted.cyclic.app #100Devs #WomenWhoCode

Awesome, Anna Pastushko is now offering free coffee chats 🎉 Check the list of all the wonderful humans offering them at github.com/fharper/coffee… If you can offer free coffee chats, on the frequency you want, when you want & the length of chat you want, add your name to the list 🫶

In the last 11 years, I've failed more technical interviews than I've passed If I had to estimate, I would say definitely over 30 companies have rejected me after technical assessments Here are 7 takeaways I've learned from failing these interviews 👇

Hussien is such an amazing mentor, really knowledgeable and approachable. If you haven't already talked to him, book a slot with him on @ADPList, join his Twitter space and check out his course on "getting your first coding job" 👩‍💻
Hussien 🇨🇦@hussien_coding

In early 2021, as a bootcamp mentor and startup hiring manager, I noticed a huge gap between people learning to code and people wanting to get their first job. To bridge this gap, I created a comprehensive course titled "How to Get Your First Coding Job." After another year of mentoring, gathering valuable feedback, and doing over 100 hours of technical interviews myself at the end of 2021, I decided to create another version of the course with many improvements from the first version. Since then I've got an amazing feedback on the course itself especially from people like @kb9700 and @TravCodez I've also shared all my techniques for the countless coffee chats I've had over the past 2 years and got some great feedback there as well At this point, I'm very confident in the quality of this course. And I'll be raising it from $29 to $49 this Sunday (purchase parity available) So if you're looking for the culmination of all my expertise from being a developer for over 10 years, a hiring manager for two, bootcamp mentor for three and doing over 100 hours of interviews myself then I think this course will help you You can grab it below 👇 hussiencoding.gumroad.com/l/first-coding…

Yup. I frickin did it. I’m employed!! 🥳 I’ve been dropping some hints.. who can guess where I’m going to be working? 🤔🤭 I am so grateful for @leonnoel and all of the time, thoughtfulness, and passion he puts into the #100Devs community. I was an active member of the second cohort since class one, back in January 2022, and it has completely changed my life. Six figure salary, remote, flexible schedule, unlimited PTO, aallll the yummy benefits 😮‍💨 and an absolutely remarkable team working on an amazing tool. 🥹 It’s sappy af but that little brown girl with a dream to escape poverty, 25 and a half years later, is finally going to get everything she’s ever wanted. And I’m gonna give it to her.

@LLCoolChris_ Absolutment! Aussi, ne payez jamais que le minimum sur votre carte de crédit! J'en vu trop les gens qui ont dépensé plus qu'ils ont gagné et ont été lourdement endettés. 😨

It's a good thing we don't have these in Canada, I always have to go once when in the US, one of my favorite & only I like fast food here. (@ Chipotle Mexican Grill in Washington, DC) swarmapp.com/c/eyVFl51Nt2O

Day 60 of #100DaysOfCode Today I finished the objects section on Codecademy and JavaScript.info. Next, I’ll move on to the Intermediate JS course on Codecademy! Here’s the link: codecademy.com/learn/learn-in… I also started reading Chapter 4 of Eloquent JavaScript and did the first exercise. I really liked the part about the man turning into a cute Squirrel 🐿 I learned about: - getters & setters - Object.keys(), Object.entries() & Object.assign() - Optional chaining ‘?.’ - Symbol type Also got another chance to practice reduce() 👇

A common mistake I see from people looking for their first coding job: They'll ask someone if they have a job and if they don't they leave it at that What they should do is ask them for intros to other people in their network More quality connections = More job opportunities
