UN mandates for troop deployment have been the backbone of Irish foreign policy since the 1960s. Now the government wants to abandon this and sell it as normal. It’s not — it’s a foreign policy revolution. #savethetriplelock #saveirishneutrality

The government and media are dismissive, arrogant and patronising towards anyone who challenges their plans to remove the Triple Lock. Why? They know it's a deeply unpopular move and are desperately trying to avoid public scrutiny. #savethetriplelock #saveirishneutrality

Shannon Airport is swarming with US soldiers this morning turning a civilian airport into a de facto US - NATO military base. This makes the Irish state complicit in genocide. It also makes a mockery of Irish neutrality, something consistently supported by the Irish people.

Fourth Stop: -Shannon Estuary proposed site for an LNG terminal - Ballylongford It beggars belief that the government would seek to build an LNG terminal in the midst of a climate emergency. These ventures further align IRL with US imperialism and jeopardise our neutrality.

Our third stop on the Neutrality Roadshow was in Shannon, where there were two US military planes at the airport. We called on the Gardai to search them, but they responded that no searches would be carried out. This failure makes Ireland complicit in genocide and war crimes.

Solidarity with the May Day 3 who took action when our Government has failed to. Allowing US military planes through Shannon undermines Irish neutrality and is a breach of our international legal and moral obligation to prevent genocide. palestineaction.org/palestine-acti…

The Taoiseach uses the 1916 Commemoration event to take another dig at the Triple Lock which is central to Irish neutrality. President Higgins speaking at the Pope's funeral calls out the indifference of world leaders to Gaza. They speak for two different Irelands.

The Government's arguments to remove the Triple Lock are flawed and aim to confuse and mislead the public. This briefing debunks them arguing that the Triple Lock must be retained as a core part of Irish neutrality. Available at @ConnollyBooks or online: tni.org/en/publication…

The @AfriPeace annual Famine Walk began in 1988 to connect Ireland's history of colonial famine, An Gorta Mór, with contemporary global injustices. It has never been more important to remember that we side with the colonised and oppressed, not the forces of empire.
