Wrexham's fairy tale did not end. It just paused. Less than 5 years ago, Wrexham were playing in front of 3,000 people in non-league football while the rest of the world had never heard of them. But their ownership changed and three promotions in three seasons later, they are in the Championship. A fourth consecutive promotion would have been the kind of thing that gets written into the history books permanently. You know- the kind of story that outlives the people who watched it. It did not happen. Not today. Hull City beat them to it, and they were victims of the exact kind of heartbreak football specializes in manufacturing for the clubs that dare to dream slightly too loudly. 71 points. 69 goals. A season that in any other context would feel like an achievement. Today it feels like a door that almost opened. Wrexham will be going into next season as a Championship club who know exactly what they are capable of and exactly how thin the line is. That combination of hunger and hurt is not nothing. Clubs have won promotions on less. The story is not over. It just needed another chapter. I think they will make the playoffs next season. What do you think? My name is Ajoje.
