Daemon is grey because GRRM wrote him that way. Alicent is grey because the showrunners were too scared to keep her as the villain she is in the books🤷🏾♀️

Rhaenyra referred to Helaena as her “sweet sister” while referring to Aemond and Aegon as half brothers only. It’s not unreasonable to believe Helaena wouldn’t have benefited from aligning herself on TB and it speaks volumes that she didn’t kill her or Alicent when taking KL.

After the butchering of b&c in the show, Peepaw had to write ‘beware the butterflies’ where he wholeheartedly praised Phia’s portrayal of Helaena & also pointed out her influence in the story. I’m not downplaying others rather pointing out this character has lotta impact.
