You're calling Aegon, Aemond, Helaena and Daeron Hightowers because their mother is Hightower. I'm calling Rhaenyra an Arryn because her mother was an Arryn. It is the same. In ASOAIF it matters who the father is, not the mother, hence why people take the name of their father, not the mother.
