@AzaelOfficial Yeah or like ded hasn't been met but even then usually it will atleast have an allowed amount that's decently less than the billed amount and then that amount goes to patient responsibility
English

@AzaelOfficial Well, if you have a PPO plan atleast. I admittedly know nothing about HMO

@Morgue_XiiV @RenardReads It is interesting how different our minds can work. I feel like I pause while reading but as I continue reading I still process then after I also process and think on it for some time after as I am doing other tasks and that is when most of my absorbing takes place.
English

@NevermoreXO @RenardReads Honestly not sure, might depend heavily on what sort of book it is. But no I think I process better if I pause and think about what I read as I'm reading. I do still get that random revelation whilst doing other stuff thing too, but it's not enough to take everything in.
English

200 pages = ~60k words. The average adult's reading speed is 250 words per minute so reading 60k words would take them 240min. 240min spaced evenly over a week is ~34 minutes a day.
Reading for a little over half an hour a day is entirely doable even w/"jobs & responsibilities."
family_abolition_guy@nourician
200-300 pages a week is fucking delusional. people have jobs and responsibilities – their time is less free than ever!!! a lot of the shit they assign as readings in the humanities is also total garbage lmfao, maybe 30-40% is worth reading
English

@Morgue_XiiV @RenardReads Can you not absorb those complex ideas after your reading session is done? Im not asking this with a mean spirit but I see this all the time. For me, even after my reading session is over I can think about it while doing other tasks and absorb it? Is this not the case for you?
English

@RenardReads Yeah what if you need to absorb complex ideas from the text?
English

@Chronodendron @TheEclecticGoat I would go with Kobo! I love my kobo and the one I use has google drive and drop box right on it if you need it:)
English

@TheEclecticGoat That's good to know. Thank you

I’m so upset…
My Kindle is fifteen years old. It still works fine, and I want no other.
I read a lot, and this is the only e-reader that doesn’t hurt my eyes. None of the new models have a screen that so perfectly mimics paper. And now Amazon is forcing me to buy a new one. 😡
I don’t need a touchscreen or sound, and I definitely don’t want adverts! 🤬
The timing couldn’t be worse either… I can’t afford it right now. ☹️
I guess I won’t be buying more ebooks for a while... I’ll just have to read the ones I already have.

English

@Nbafannn298762 @freckxi I said "often called", I did not say "officially"
English

@NevermoreXO @freckxi But "The Moon" is its official name. Luna is used in science fiction

@LuxInanitas @LRNROSE I think reading certainly would be more enjoyable if I could envision things but even without it, reading is my main hobby. So, yes I think it is down to personal preference and not necessarily if you have aphantasia it means you must not enjoy reading.
English

@NevermoreXO @LRNROSE I wonder, either way at the end of the day it's a matter of preference. Reading is very uncomfortable for me if I don't enjoy the content of what I'm engaging with and I believe aphantasia plays a significant role as readers often tell me they play movies in their heads.
English

@LuxInanitas @LRNROSE I cant see images in my head at all and I still love to read. I dont think this is a solid reason lol.
English

@BurtRock69 @hellciee My internal dialogue is a lot faster than the talking speed of audiobooks. I dont even think I read particularly fast but its definitely faster than the speed that a normal audiobook narrator records their books.
English

@hellciee Hmmm idk if that’s an average book.
Like I don’t time myself reading, but the average in my audiobook collection is like 12 hours. I guess maybe you can speed read that, but I typically wouldn’t speed read a novel. I like to imagine the character dialogue at normal speeds.

Liftoff.
The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.
Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.

@thegraciejie @VALORANT First of all, thats so cute 🥺🥺👉👈 thank you for thinking of me. Second, I love it! Time for me to go back to val lollll
English

@floatovertrees @RatClinic_ @bo_austin_ You only live once and you should spend that time caring about others. Being self centered does not lead to a fulfilling life. Valuing your time over someone you care about and their interest is selfish.
English

@RatClinic_ @bo_austin_ i've said it many times at this point, but my claim wasn't about what should or shouldn't be meaningful to you. i was talking about conversations that are just not meaningful to you for whatever reason. what to do? they say: pretend! i say: no, value your time, you only live once
English

yeah, that’s called being bad at socializing — socializing is predicated on pretending you think something is meaningful because it might be very meaningful to the person you’re talking to
Libriscent@libriscent
Autistic people aren’t bad at socializing. They’re bad at pretending a conversation is meaningful when it isn’t
