Strong breakout on the Decode MTO in 'Pulse' vs TOTAL2ES (total crypto market cap excluding bitcoin and stablecoins). If you haven't been following the development of my macro oscillator, one of its great strengths is its most leading mode, Pulse, shown here. I get a lot of questions about the authenticity of the tool and whether it is over-fitted to bitcoin/crypto cycles, so I will try to answer that today. The tool calculates 40 publicly accessible data sources into what I believe are 19 leading macroeconomic indicators. The calculation of each indicator is treated on its own individual merits. 1200 lines of code include 6 carefully considered normalisation functions that ensure the aggregate datasets are as accurate as possible. A lot of time was spent ensuring the centreline is as reliable an inflection point as possible. Three different aggregate datasets are organised into these modes: Complete, Bitcoin, and Pulse. 1. Complete: All indicators turned on, is most lagging, and requires a much larger set of indicators above the centreline to flip green. Good for historical datasets, such as a long-term SPX chart. 2. Bitcoin: A subset of indicators that provide the best correlation to Bitcoin troughs and peaks. Arguably the most fitted dataset but provides the best signal for bitcoin/crypto cycles currently. 3. Pulse: This is the leanest and least fitted dataset. It is a small subset of indicators that are well known to provide the most leading macroeconomic signal. It is an early signal, but also the most trustworthy. Look at the chart and decide for yourself.
