Beat The Streets- Newark
@NewarkBTS
Giving Newark youth the opportunity to chase dreams and build resiliency through the oldest and greatest sport- wrestling.

Each year as we approach the annual @BeattheStreets (BTS) benefit, I reflect, not just on how far we’ve come, but how far we still need to go. Because the mission is bigger than us. We ask: How can we do more for young people, here at home and across the globe? Success often starts with great parents. But what happens when a child is born into a broken home, foster care, or grows up alone? How do they thrive without the support many of us take for granted? The three M’s; Money, mentors and motivation, are all essential. Being born into poverty is too often a life sentence unless something, or someone, intervenes. That’s where BTS comes in. Our mission isn’t just about wrestling. It’s about creating opportunity, structure, stability, and mentorship. Especially for those who need it most. Wrestling teaches discipline, confidence, resilience, and the thrill of earned success. But more than that, it builds character, community, and leaders. At BTS, we step in where families and systems fall short. We help kids rise when they might otherwise fall through the cracks. Here’s what we’ve learned: funding opens doors. But mentorship changes lives. A coach, a mentor, a steady caring adult. These are the real game changers. Looking ahead, we must grow our programs, train more mentors, and reach more kids. But we can’t do it alone. If you support BTS, thank you. You’re part of a movement transforming lives. If you’re new, now is the time to join us. Let’s expand this mission, city to city, and one day, country to country. Together, we’re not just changing outcomes. We’re changing lives. Let’s keep beating the streets, together. #wrestling #youthdevelopment #mma give.btsny.org/event/2025-fin…
