This conversation meant a lot to me.
On @thediaryoface, I opened up with @StevenBartlett about some of life’s more defining moments: loss, growth, and the perspective that comes from navigating both.
We talked about creativity, love, boundaries, building, parenting and what matters most in this next chapter.
Grateful to share it.

The @BoringCompany could build a Hyperloop tunnel from downtown SF to downtown LA for <5% of this cost and it would be a technological marvel exceeding any high speed rail on Earth
Hans Mahncke@HansMahncke
If you gave away $126 billion to subsidize free flights between LA and San Francisco at current demand levels, you could fund roughly 150 to 200 years of travel before the money runs out.

What is it like to grow up in one of the most talked about families in the world?
Well, today’s guest is Ivanka Trump - someone who’s lived much of her life in the public eye, from childhood through business, and all the way to the White House.
From a young age, her life was anything but normal. She grew up surrounded by media attention and moments that most people could never relate to.
At just nine years old, she was dealing with reporters outside her school during her parents’ divorce - an experience she says shaped how she saw trust and the world around her.
As she got older, that pressure didn’t go away. She built a career in real estate before stepping into government and working at the highest level during one of the most intense political periods in recent history.
I found myself coming back to something we discussed around how living under that kind of scrutiny forces you to get really clear on who you are, because if you don’t, the world will define it for you.
And a lot of this conversation comes back to that idea.
Being intentional with your time and your decisions, and even what you allow into your mind, because without that, it’s very easy to get pulled in a direction that isn’t really yours.
I wanted to know:
- How do you grow up under constant public scrutiny?
- What does pressure actually do to a person over time?
- How do you know who to trust when you’re in the spotlight?
- What is power really like behind closed doors?
There’s a moment where she reflects on how, for a long time, protecting herself meant building walls and not trusting people, but over time she realised those same walls can stop you from having real connection.
Let me know your thoughts after watching this one.

I am pleased to announce the release of American journalist Shelly Kittleson, who was recently kidnapped by members of the foreign terrorist organization Kata’ib Hizballah near Baghdad, Iraq.
The U.S. Department of State extends its appreciation to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of War, U.S. personnel across multiple agencies, and the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council and our Iraqi partners, for their assistance in securing her release.
This resolution reflects the Trump Administration's steadfast commitment to the safety and security of American citizens, no matter where they are in the world.
Under President Trump, the wrongful detention or kidnapping of U.S. nationals will not be tolerated. We will continue to use every tool to bring Americans home and to hold accountable those responsible.
We are relieved that this American is now free and are working to support her safe departure from Iraq.

THE EASTER MIRACLE
Today, Easter Sunday, marks the triumph of life over death, the defeat of sin, and the assurance of eternal hope. It is that celebration of eternal hope which brings peace, renewal of life and the triumph of love over hate.
The Easter miracle is considered the greatest victory in history.
And so, it fitting on this holiest of Christian days that a brave American warrior was rescued from behind enemy lines in one of the greatest search and rescue missions in military history. This soldier’s family will know today the full joy of Easter.
We are grateful for the leadership of our intrepid Commander-in-Chief @POTUS, our brilliant military leaders, and our brave special forces for this Easter miracle.
My thoughts and prayers are with the 13 families who will not have their heroes with them today. They gave the ultimate sacrifice. America owes these brave soldiers, and their families, a debt of gratitude for generations to come.
