Rwenzori Marathon – Global Marketing Calendar 2026 🌍🏃🏾‍♂️ A must watch Video 👇 The journey to position the Rwenzori Marathon as a truly global race started immediately after the 2025 edition. Our international marketing campaign officially kicked off during the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon in October 2025, marking the beginning of our outreach to the global running community. One of the key upcoming engagements is the Kilimanjaro Marathon scheduled for the 22nd. This participation is made possible through a strong partnership between the Rwenzori Marathon team and the Uganda High Commission in Tanzania, working closely with the Consular team in Arusha. Both institutions have generously contributed their time and resources to ensure Uganda is well represented. #NOTE Below is an artistic impression of the Rwenzori Marathon exhibition stand, which will proudly showcase not only the marathon but also the beauty, culture, and tourism potential of Uganda to the Tanzanian market. Our global outreach continues with confirmed exhibition participation at two of Africa’s most prestigious races in South Africa: Comrades Marathon Two Oceans Marathon These platforms will help us connect with thousands of international runners and further promote the Rwenzori experience. Beyond Africa, our strategy for 2026 will extend strongly into Europe and the United States, targeting international runners, travel communities, and global marathon enthusiasts. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda for supporting the Economic and Commercial Diplomacy (ECD) agenda and for amplifying the global marketing of the Rwenzori Marathon through Uganda’s 40 Missions, Embassies, and Consulates worldwide. This diplomatic support is instrumental in positioning Uganda on the global sports tourism map. The 2026 campaign will require significant investment and coordinated international promotion as we push towards establishing The Rwenzori Marathon as a globally recognised label race. We now look forward to welcoming the world on 22nd August 2026 in Kasese, at the foothills of the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, for what promises to be one of Africa’s most scenic and unforgettable marathon experiences.

RWANDA AIR / MY EXPERIENCE My overall experience in Rwanda from Thursday evening to yesterday in Rwanda was great. But amongst highlight were Kigali golf club, Freedom restaurant, meeting business associates and Rwanda development board. The other highlight was with @FlyRwandAir especially the crew last evening out of Rwanda departed 6.55pm Rwanda time. I have flown @FlyRwandAir quite a number of times but the crew last evening composed of young people was great. Well spoken, delightful etc. I totally loved the young man who brief me and a few others who were seated on the emergency seats. Great briefing with a smile and slight joke at the end. The area of improvement was some of immigration at Kigali airport especially when we arrived on Thursday. I don’t think every immigration person is bad. 3 of us( Ugandans) on the counter that evening can conclude that, they weren’t exited about us coming to Rwanda, we had to convince them, we are okay guys. One of the Ugandans owns about 3 hotels here in uganda but he was shy to tell them he a serious business person when they asked him what he did a living. I also labored to convince them but didn’t take it personal, didn’t want to spoil my evening. Uganda is great for Rwandas business over the weekends. Generally had a blast in Kigali which is great and hope to be back soon.

Day’s choice Personalities : @WasswaEmma_ /@Uganda_Expozed Why: passion for tourism A few years ago, I started thinking about Uganda getting a few passionate individuals that would lead the national push for tourism. Many young people would come up and push and disappear without trace and yet consistency is what makes the difference. Am now 52yrs old and don’t have same energy as I did when younger. Yes, with passion one will make mistakes, over work themselves, it’s also very lonely journey on many occasions, attracts both good and bad attention. But being passionate, helps you push boundaries, attracts opportunities, respect , following etc When ‘your passion’ can’t feed you then it’s not actually a passion. A passion will automatically reward you though it’s something you will wake up for without thinking about money for example. Anyways, I told you before about how I met @WasswaEmma_ . No where else but X platform, I once watched a video of him hunting rats and cooking them and I thought eh, this chap. With very small following, he started sharing content about @RwenzoriMarathn and I could see 50 people have seen for each post. I invited him for a discussion since he was very very consistent for a chat and he explained why he was pushing @RwenzoriMarathn . Definitely shared a few old man’s wise words about how life works based on my own experiences. He started introducing me to his fellow bloggers and I realized he had a gift of leadership, he also wishes others well. Introduced him to quite a number of contacts since I knew he could deliver including @TheGuluMarathon and other regional contacts. What I have admired about @WasswaEmma_ is his ability to make sure many others also earn, not a selfish fellow and he is keeping them engaged for the good of society. He told me about each person he works with and why he works with them and he genuinely wants them to get better something that’s is rear here in Uganda. Like you have all seen, he has made sure they too travel around Uganda and east Africa as a whole. He has given other young guys a source of income and stability. He calls me atleast twice a month to simply update me on what’s going on including last night. He said uncle Amos, money has started coming and I told him, I can see that. @WasswaEmma_ and @Uganda_Expozed are clearly a very good team for Ugandas tourism in general. They are pushing Uganda’s tourism like it should be pushed domestically. Am glad many of you have identified them and able to give them gigs and I must tell you, they deliver. Their formula actually works magic. Now Kenyan companies are signing deals with them too. They are becoming more bold and confident in engaging anybody and that’s how people succeed. Not under water stories. In conclusion, one thing am continuing to learn is introduce any young hard working person to good contacts and magic will happen. God expands their territory. And the more they grow the more you grow too.

Life lessons I recently posted a video of tourists arriving in Tanzania and some sections of people weren’t happy about it. And I have discussed this topic before here and not once. When there is a massive challenge which includes loss of life and international organizations continue marketing, Ugandans generally speaking don’t question them. People won’t ask international companies organizations why are continuing to market when we have a problem at hand but will question a Ugandan marketing and be very angry! Where did that mindset come from? Those organizations have employees to pay salaries, perhaps loans to pay, shareholders waiting for profits, revenue authority wants taxes , other service providers to pay. They don’t apply emotions to business. Same apply to us local businesses, our problems are even bigger. People expect me a local to apply emotions everyday in order to look good. My advise is keep your head up as a local business person, otherwise the environment isn’t generally on your side. Just make decisions based on your ability not society expectations, you won’t manage. A local company has only Uganda to borrow money from and it’s as high as 30% per annum. Being a local product, you have to be 10 times better than a foreign one for Ugandans to buy from you unless it’s food. And when same Ugandans have a problem, they don’t ask the foreigner for help, it’s fellow Ugandan they go to. Iron? There isn’t a single week where either a friend has lost someone, a relative lost someone, or neighborhood etc and am always approached and i have to make decisions. If i used emotions , I would driving all sorts of directions for burials or weddings etc but it’s costly, I have to fuel a car, pay for accommodation and contribute. Most times I will give what would have been my fuel money and it’s still a cost to me. Some people think oh you run businesses, they should automatically have money, eh? Trust me, if it was as simple everyone would do business. Business is a proper dog eat dog world. If you don’t run a business, you will never understand this. As an Ugandan business person, please don’t over apply emotions. A simple example, I traveled to the UK for business recently but without checking malaria, something I often do before leaving Africa. Very advisable. Can back with malaria plus, went on a drip a bit and injections etc . Malaria reduces immunity so I discovered yesterday I have bacteria infection, something i hardly get but it’s been tough 2 weeks. My head can’t fully appreciate resting, so I keep pushing. I believe that a man must on the frontline daily and if he dies, he still wins since he won’t face problems again, if he survives or succeeds , he still wins. Again, application of emotions. Quite a number of people call for me to solve their problems, an example a guy calls and says am stuck in mabira now, I say am not feeling well, I tell him. Please get up and find a way of sending me help now he says. Many examples, another calls tomorrow is my wedding, I want you to attend as a must and I haven’t seen your contribution. I say am not feeling. Okay just tell your accountant to send money. One relative calls blasting me how am not helping them enough. Eh. I asked, why don’t you ask how I am now? Like just apply your brains daily and avoid emotions to keep moving, it’s what it’s!

Rwenzori Marathon 2025 I know many of you simply woke up to just push @RwenzoriMarathn, you saw its impact not only for kasese but Uganda. We so far surpassed 30m views about the marathon and uganda, we many influencers push from many countries. But let me single out @WasswaEmma_ today, he started pushing @RwenzoriMarathn before I even knew him . I once asked him, why push @RwenzoriMarathn ? He said, if i associate with a good brand, my brand too will grow. He added, if I post 5 times a day each time having 50 people see, then 250 people will have seen. Of course it’s paying for him too since we started associating and he recruited many people to push the brand, now he has a business with @Uganda_Expozed. We introduced him to gigs too and am happy for him, he is very committed lad an and like I always say, hard work works and hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
