The UK now taxes the education of 550,000 children and we should all be ashamed of that. Note - I have 2 children in state school

Unemployment in the UK rose to a five-year high in the three months to December as the labour market continues to weaken. The number of people on payrolls dropped by 134,000 in the year to January. The unemployment rate rose to 5.2% in the three months to December, up from 5.1%. Unemployment was 4.4% when Labour took office July 2024. There are now just shy of 2m unemployed in the UK. In addition there are around 5m of working age who are not working but claiming various welfare benefits who do not show up in the unemployment figures because they are not looking for work.

Also with Labour: ✅ We’ve delivered over 5 million extra NHS appointments. ✅ Waiting lists are down year on year ✅ We’re bringing care closer to home and we've hired more than 2,000 new GPs

Education is easier. Kids leave education after 15 years of being taught by liberal/left leaning teachers and it takes a while for reality to hit as they get older Pay more to bring in teachers with life experience, with businesses, with private enterprise success

The NHS is in need of a series of reforms, the first of which needs to start bringing the public and the NHS itself on a journey to detach it from religious status First step, in my mind, is to separate and ringfence the NHS cost as a separate tax on payslips

Logical progression for @bphillipsonMP in applying to be Labour Deputy Leader Phillipson has screwed over our children, and the next step is obviously screwing over the whole country!

New approach for councils discussing costs for their ideas “We’ve got this stupid fucking idea to paint the pride flag on zebra crossings & it’ll cost a year of council tax for 15,000 band C homes. Who’s voting for it?” Decisions would get better!

@bphillipsonMP Unfortunately, your efforts aren’t to improve education but to drag all education down to the lowest common level. The damage you’re doing to our children is immeasurable

Delighted to remain in post as Education Secretary and Minister for Women & Equalities in this Labour government. Now, we redouble our efforts to break the unfair link between background and success by giving children growing up in our country the best start in life.

@WilliamClouston @KemiBadenoch @Nigel_Farage @SDPhq Nationalising British Steel will mean taxpayers permanently subsidising an industry. Until we’ve reduced the energy prices that are crippling all UK manufacturing nationally and internationally we’d just be nationalising an increase to national debt that’ll never be repaid

@realDonaldTrump Inflation will climb as your tariffs bite. The tariffs aren’t paid for by the producer regardless of country, they’re paid by higher consumer prices on your own people

Oil prices are down, interest rates are down (the slow moving Fed should cut rates!), food prices are down, there is NO INFLATION, and the long time abused USA is bringing in Billions of Dollars a week from the abusing countries on Tariffs that are already in place. This is despite the fact that the biggest abuser of them all, China, whose markets are crashing, just raised its Tariffs by 34%, on top of its long term ridiculously high Tariffs (Plus!), not acknowledging my warning for abusing countries not to retaliate. They’ve made enough, for decades, taking advantage of the Good OL’ USA! Our past “leaders” are to blame for allowing this, and so much else, to happen to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

@bphillipsonMP says she wants to improve opportunities for all children—so why make top sixth forms even harder to get into? #SchoolFeeVAT is forcing more students into state schools, but places haven’t increased. One child’s gain is another’s loss. Independent schools (used to) educate ~12% of sixth formers—now, if your child misses out, blame @UKLabour. They did this. #EducationNotTax @MailOnline @ISC_schools @LauraTrottMP

Record numbers of pupils apply to top state sixth forms for A-levels after VAT was introduced on private school fees, heads say trib.al/PCbmgCb

Shocking footage emerges of Rachel Reeves sister, Ellie Reeves, boasting of karaoke sessions with Ed Miliband. Asked if she was PM for one day what would she do, she didn't say look for a cure for cancer or end wars, she says she would abolish private schools.
