@andrewfoxyt @Treyarch That’s the million-dollar question. CoD’s got a track record of testing bold systems early, then quietly reverting them mid-season. I really hope this time they commit — consistency would go a long way for trust.

Open Matchmaking confirmed. At launch, Open Matchmaking with minimal skill consideration will be the default matchmaking for #BlackOps7 MP. Our team is committed to providing players with a more varied experience, and the Beta was a valuable opportunity to test this approach.

@IsaacBenjaMAGA @Treyarch I get that concern — casual retention is what keeps the player base healthy long term. Maybe the “Open Matchmaking” label means they’ll have multiple options later? A mix of both could work.

@Treyarch No sbmm is a mistake, your data will show casual players will leave mid game more often. But persistent lobby is great.

@curcsX @Treyarch I actually think this was heavily asked for — just not by the casual crowd. Competitive and legacy players have been calling for less SBMM for years. The tricky part is finding a system that keeps both groups happy.

@Keano1981 @Treyarch Totally fair point. “Tuning” SBMM would’ve been the smarter middle ground — enough to keep casuals around, but still loosen things up for the rest. Full removal might be swinging the pendulum too far the other way.

@Treyarch Casual players get stomped, Casual players leave, only good players left, lobbies are like they were with SBMM, good players complain the lobbies all feel the same, same outcome but with a smaller playerbase. SBMM needed tuned, not flattened. No need to buy the game now.

@CmoneySauce @Treyarch That’s a great question! I was wondering the same — if “Open” matchmaking ends up as its own playlist, wouldn’t that just attract the more experienced players anyway? Kind of defeats the point of no-SBMM if the filter separates everyone again! 😂
