HPV vaccination for boys in LMICs is urgent! In a cohort of 498 circumcised SMM in Nigeria:
🔹72.7% had penile HPV
🔹48.0% were high-risk strains
🔹HIV ↑ odds of penile HPV (aOR 1.93)
🔹Most prevalent HPV types (16, 51, 45, 18) are vaccine-preventable.

🚨 Even with ART use, HIV still affects birth outcomes.
💡 But...viral suppression mitigates this risk! Women with well-controlled HIV had better birth outcomes, including lower risk of low birth weight in our cohort of Malawian women. Read more here: journals.lww.com/jaids/abstract…
