@gavontwitt More noticeable with swimming as once they're 16 they're competing against seniors- compare it to athletics where there's U20 and u23 categories. Maybe one of the reasons?

Swim coaches - it’s ok for 12-15 yr old swimmer to be interested in more than just swimming. It’s not ok to shun him or her if they cannot make all your sessions. You should be judged more not on the speed of your best 15yr old but your drop off rate after 15

If you were to run alongside Kipchoge, how long would you last? This is what 2:01:39 pace translates to for various distances. I'd probably be spent at about 700m. With some hard training, I could maybe make it a full 800m.
