After today’s massive rally in Mayuge, the next destination for the NUP Presidential Candidate was Iganga Municipality. However, police and the military blocked the candidate from accessing the venue, and therefore the Iganga Municipality rally which is on the agreed schedule has not happened. What’s bothersome is that two other presidential candidates campaigned in Iganga Municipality this very week, but the NUP Presidential Candidate has been denied access. We hope the Electoral Commission and police will explain to us how it is okay for other candidates to campaign in an area, but it’s not okay for the NUP candidate to do the same, as stipulated by the agreed campaign schedule!! #ProtestVote2026
